Oh well. I wish all my fellow 'waiters' a very Happu Christmas! I for one will eat my weight in chocolate and drink enough to fill a swimming pool. Then I will see what January has to offer.

Glad u still have ur sense of humour Jamie - it really has been soul destroying. Better to not tell u u have a job, rather than let u think that u have and then not come up with the goods. Mind u, if they are like this with their recruitment then imagine what a nightmare they could be like to work for!!!!
All the best with your job hunt.......I do have work at the moment, albeit it is lowly paid - but u r so right, work is so hard to come by. Let's wish for a much better twentyten.

LOL!! Indeed, I think I shall phone them up now and tell them to get a bed ready...and an extra drip. There was a offer on the vodka.

Don't want to upset you all but a current internal exercise for promotion has informed offices that that if they loose staff through promotion they will not be replaced as they are not recruiting anymore from the waiting list, not sure if this applies to all area of the country or just some areas.

Hmm...not what it seems to be happening at my JCP, the district manager confirmed that there will be more AOs coming in January. I'm not sure if this is 100% true but with all the promotions, it's left a lot of the signing on team short-handed. The problem might be the reluctance of the managers to take new people on due to their inexperience and the usual public sector bureaucracy.
  • I applied for an EO position for IRC 60811 Shropshire but as things stand at the moment, if in January someone offered me an AO position to work there I'd take it.

    Please.

All casual/temporary staff in JC+ are being paid off by 22/01/10.

And word is that recently recruited fixed term staff won't be getting their contracts renewed.

PCS has something on their website about it, bulletin issued yesterday.
  • Been offered a role of Compliance Officer at my local JCP. Not the role I was expecting - does anyone have experience or knowledge of the role??? Many thanks

Compliance deals with minor irregularities/low level fraud, also carries out visiting functions for Benefit Delivery.

Oh Well better keep looking, but I think they will not tell us anything, just let the list expire.
