    Hi all

have just found out that its going to be at least another week before any of us find out whether or not we have been successful! blooming eck thats takes us to almost 6 weeks from interview ... limbo or what lol.

And just as an extra to all those who have replied to my previous posts that I clearly did not meet the requirements for the council job ... I am fully qualified and met all the requirements for the job ... if I did not have the qualifications/specifications then I would not have bothered applying in the first place.

Thought you'd like to know a little more about the pre recruitment checks being completed. Not sure if a couple of months is an exact estimate as in my case and i have had this confirmed by the Newcastle Office that the checks are actually completed with HM Inland Revenue to basically confirm you were working for your specified employer between your specified dates. Please note though these checks are only completed once they have your CRB Certificate. In my case I had to fax over a copy ( as they had mislaid the original!) on the Thursday morning and the checks were completed by 3.00pm on the following day!

For the record i have found the Newcastle office to be very helpful in my application ( aprt form losing the CRB cert of course! )

Hello there may I please ask you how did you find out that your CRB certificate had been mislaid?I 've sent mine one week ago, then called them today and the manager responsible for the exercise told me he doesnt know and cant really tell me if the recruitment team has received it. So he advised me to wait. But I used the recorded delivery code and it has been delivered to its destination. Now, I honestly wonder how long since they have received my certificate and theres no waiting list for this post, how long is it going to take for them to offer me a starting date? How frustrating is this.Thank you.

Your opinion on being qualified and an employer's opinion on being qualified is often two very different things.

6 weeks from interview is quite a short period for the current standings. I'd expect to wait around 8 weeks.

Regarding some of the other questions people have, it would help to mention if you have applied for the fixed term or perm posts as I believe the timescales are slightly different.

Did you fill in your Disclosure requesting it to be sent directly to the employer, or to you? Is it a CRB or a Disclosure through Disclosure Scotland? CRB's are running at around 13 weeks at the moment. But Disclosure Scotland much shorter.

Are you sure there is no waiting list for the post? Which post have you applied for?

It came to my house, I dont remember if I have ticked any box regarding the location;obviously I have hey.But that's not to be advised since it slows down things. It is a Basic Disclosure Scotland. Yes I've been told by the resource manager there's no waiting list for the post; Leicestershire.

Well good evening or should i say good morning lol.

I would just like to say that this will be my last post on this thread as I have been overwhelmed by the "support" that I have received. I only wrote the post about the council job as a bit of a whinge/moan that a lot of others have had. However the difference has been that they recieved support while I was left feeling vilified for saying how I felt.

So good luck to all who are waiting to find out about jobs and to all who are applying.

I think people arent realising that an AO post with DWP only requires a basic disclosure and hence goes to Disclosure Scotland.

Current turn around times are only 5 days, you can keep track of this on their website

    http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/news.htm

The delays are only on higher disclosures

Yes CRB's are from Scotland as I stated previous

How long have you been waiting? Can you beat three months?

Just found out why mine may have taken so long, other than details going missing... the person who was dealing with my case apparently rang in and resigned, having got another job, completely out of the blue this morning. Makes me wonder how fussed he was about his workload and chasing up needed information these last couple of weeks...

If this is the case, he's probably cost me a job as while I've been twiddling my thumbs while nobody could be bothered getting in touch with me to say they needed additional info most of the AO roles at my local Job Centre have now been filled  Official complaints procedure here I come...
