This place has been slow for a bit now. I hope this means that very few people are waiting for the call. I remember someone a few posts back was hoping the thread would shut down soon as everyone would be busy working in a JC somewhere! I am happy to see that tha day will soon be upon us.

For those still waiting, it won't be long....
I can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A
  • I had my interview on 9th October, and I received my disclosure a couple of days ago. I just contacted the employment resourcing department and they said that now that the disclosure has come through, that they are just waiting for the business partner to contact me. I would like to contact the business partner to find out what is going on. Does anyone have contact details for whichever business partner this is? It might be south London but I'm really not sure.

Good luck everyone..... hang on in there!! :-)

Hi Rich and glad to hear u r having fun! sounds great....I have just called for an update again and got another non-answer i.e. they have no news at all but do know that eventually everyone on the merit list will be contacted....but no idea when and that we should keep re-applying and not count on this as a done deal!!!

Quite depressing but must keep our chins up........
Hope to join u at a JC near me soon!!!!

Did they say how far down the list they had got through? When I contacted them about this IRC around two weeks ago they told me they had contacted the first 16 people.
  • No they didn't - really vague - I got the feeling that they are being asked so often, they do not actually go in and look......I know I am forty-something so hope we hear something soon. Pls do update if u have more news and anyone else this IRC..........
  • Just a quickie for all you newly appointed Band C Personal Advisers - are you enjoying your new roles and would you recommend it? Got to make final decision for acceptance. Do I leave my current temporary job for similar length of time to accept new post?

I started two months ago but I still haven't been placed as a personal advisor. I've been doing 15-min interviews though and like all customer-facing roles, it's a mixed bag. Some want to get out there and look for work while others might need a push and then there's others who just don't want to work and will do everything to get out of it. Those people need action taken on which I don't like doing but it's comes with that particular role (FJR). PAs afaik, don't do this.

I also started other tasks such as matching clients to upcoming vacancies and arranging interviews with them to help them with their application process. I believe you will be doing this as a personal advisor anyway and it's pretty good. I can recommend it over working for a local charity. ;)

Business partner is just the district office, so if you want to speak to someone regarding an offer. Contact your district office and ask to speaking to someone regarding your IRC. But it may turn out like it did with me that Newcastle might mess up and pass on your file to a different district, not your local one...

    hope this helps
