DWP employment waiting list

I've had a letter saying that they are now in a position to take my application forward (I was accepted in August) and that my CRB is complete. I had to send a letter back saying my circumstances hadn't changed.
Does anyone know if a start date usually follows this? Because I would love to quit my job and have Christmas off!0 -

I got such a letter a week or so back, then a CRB arrived at the weekend so I suppose it does not take long. I expect they are now doing employment/revenue checks then will call.
I have had a call for another IRC though so who knows?#
I don't think you will have long to wait coz the ball is rolling fast now.I can do all things through him who gives me strength....:A0 -

I arrived for work today and nobody was expecting me, my new manager wasn't even in the office!! After a word with the security guard and being placed in the friendly company of another EO in a different section, I discovered that my department (Level 3 Personal Advisors) has been moved to temporary accommodation for approx 3 months whilst they re-furbish working spaces for us, apparently they only moved over the weekend and nobody gave moi a second thought, hee hee! After a couple of harried phonecalls to my manager she sent her deputy over to meet me about half ten, we filled out a couple of forms, collected a pass for the systems (which won't work because I haven't got a staff no. yet) and at 12:15 I was told I could go home!!! As first days go I suppose I should consider this a bonus! Although no idea how I'm going to get on in training as they said the fact I haven't got a staff id will mean that I can't access the systems to train??? Yikes!! Hopefully they are going to find a way around this.
All I really know at the moment is that I will be a Personal Advisor/Kettle dealing with Level 3 (claimants over 6 months).... does anybody have any information on what this actually means please? I briefly gathered that a Kettle does some sort of organising I'm assuming for appointments and I think for AO's?? Anybody??????? Thanks in advance.
Stage 3 is what people go on to once they have been claiming JSA for 6 months and the role of a stage 3 adviser is to go through what initiatives (training, etc ) exist for people at this time. Also making sure their CV is up to scratch, helping them with application forms, job searches, work trials, etc and basically identifying what barrierrs are stopping them from getting a job. Usually involves a 40 minute interview with each customer.0 -
Thank you Gargantuan, I think the poor lady that met me today was a tad stressed with all the moving and me turning up unexpectedly!!
Any idea what a Kettle is?? At least I am sure that was what she called it, I did ask but the explanation as above didn't really mean that much to me.
Well done to all those who are getting calls and starting their new jobs soon!0 -
kettle is actaully "CETL" customer engagement team leader if i remember correctly. basically you will be identifying barriers, how to overcome them, t(training, C.V., upskilling, identifying skills) initail interview is 50 mins for 6 month restart interview then approx 20mins or so thereafter. Each office has different duties for the CETL but basically stats, diaries, interviews etc and depending on size of the office staff. Dont worry about not have access to the system at the moment as you will learn far more by sitting in and observing before you get stuck into guidance and regulations (it will make more sense after observing whether its on the section you will be placed or not) its a lot to take in but dont panic jsut make sure you know how to find the guidance on the system and you will be fine - it does eventually fall into placeskintbint x
here's tae us, wha's like us - fell few and and they're a deid"
10k in 2010/£6988.30-69.88%@29/12/10, 11k in 2011/£897 07.04.11- fell by the wayside!!!
12k in 2012 - £204.00 @ 4/1/12
do not confuse me with the other skintbint who joined dec2011 - i am the original bint:rotfl:0 -
Hurrah for skintbint! Thank goodness!! I'm so glad you told me I'm not going to be a "kettle" before I went in work tomorrow and made a complete fool of myself!! lol.... that's really helped a lot as I've been googling "kettle, dwp" all night!! hahahahahahaha :0) (obviously without a lot of success)0

Thanks for that.
My CRB was completed in August, but the letter said that although it was over three months ago they were prepared to overlook it to speed things up. Will me calling them bring any joy?
Also I had a letter before that asking if I'd work in a jobcentre and a list of places, I sent that back too. So heres hoping!0 -

From what I have gathered, stage 3 advisers interview those jobseeksers once they have reached the six month stage, i.e. you look at their jsag and amend it, offer training, new deal etc. CETL, I can't remember what it stands for but its a Team Leader position, which means you might be line manager to some AOs, probably those FJR officers on stage 3, hoep this helps0
