  • Hi
Great news again this last week with more and more people finally getting the call.
To those who start tomorrow, best of luck!

I start tomorrow morning at 09.30 and it was never mentioned during `the call` even though I twice tried to bring the subject up. The training programme wasn`t mentioned in the start letter either, so I hope there is some for me as well, because im getting a bit nervous now!!!
  • Hello everybody!!! I haven't posted on here for ages!!! But I just wanted to say to everybody "do not give up hope".... I applied at the end of Aug and had interviews in early Sept, found out that I'd been successful mid Sept, CRB check back mid Oct and starting my new job as an EO in Devonport, Plymouth today!!! woop woop!! (can't sleep, will probs be bug eyed on my first day).

After I had read all of the posts on here, I decided to get a temp job in the meantime and have been working at Royal Mail for the last few months, I got a call on Thursday, but missed it, rang them back on Friday and start Monday! I was prepared for a long wait, but it really hasn't been that bad working in the meantime and I didn't phone, email or chase my application once, lol, i didn't think it was worth the stress that everybody else seems to go through.

Only one slight problem they've told me who to report to, but not given me a time!!! eek, going to try and get some sleep now and hope that 9am is fairly standard for first day in a new job!!!!

Good luck everybody, I will post back some info about the training and stuff if anybody else is interested. Personally I just can't wait to find out what I will actually be doing..... as I haven't got a scooby doo!! xxx

Spaceytracey9 - Good luck for your first day. I have to make final decision today about my offer and still dont know what to do, keep us posted as to how you get on! :T
  • Good luck everyone starting today. I'm pretty excited and a little bit nervous - all I know is to head to my local Jobcentre for 9.30 and ask for the manager, I wonder what treats he has in store for me, copious amounts of paperwork I'd imagine!

Hiya Lindalea, Thank you!! Where is your offer for? I haven't got a lot to report...... I arrived for work today and nobody was expecting me, my new manager wasn't even in the office!! After a word with the security guard and being placed in the friendly company of another EO in a different section, I discovered that my department (Level 3 Personal Advisors) has been moved to temporary accommodation for approx 3 months whilst they re-furbish working spaces for us, apparently they only moved over the weekend and nobody gave moi a second thought, hee hee! After a couple of harried phonecalls to my manager she sent her deputy over to meet me about half ten, we filled out a couple of forms, collected a pass for the systems (which won't work because I haven't got a staff no. yet) and at 12:15 I was told I could go home!!! As first days go I suppose I should consider this a bonus! Although no idea how I'm going to get on in training as they said the fact I haven't got a staff id will mean that I can't access the systems to train??? Yikes!! Hopefully they are going to find a way around this.

All I really know at the moment is that I will be a Personal Advisor/Kettle dealing with Level 3 (claimants over 6 months).... does anybody have any information on what this actually means please? I briefly gathered that a Kettle does some sort of organising I'm assuming for appointments and I think for AO's?? Anybody??????? Thanks in advance.

    Hi whiskyman

    Hi Natomar

Mmmm they seemed very disorganised. They were running behind time. Six of us in my group were taken down the other end of the ground where they had been carrying out interviews for AO so that we could be interviewd there before coming back for Admin. I eventually got out about 5.00pm. Considering that I turned up in the 500 club at just after 1 o'clock it turned out to be a rather long day. I did not feel the interview went well so will just have to wait and see what happens. I have another interview this week for a permanent AO position and that is on SUNDAY. I thought Saturday was unusual but Sunday !!!!
How did your interview go? I feel it makes a big difference who you get to interview you. I do not know if you feel the same but it would be interesting to find out.
