Hi Topazstar!
Thanks for the heads up! So frustrating isn't it!?! When did you have your interview? Mine was Sept 18th..... Seems like a lifetime ago! My partner called about half an hour ago from work.... I was like "yeah yeah yeah.... anyway get off the phone in case the job centre try to call!" Haha! We had Champers the other day when I found out..... Seems like I've had a million of them now.... Had one when I was invited to the asessment (having no responses from my CVs this was a breakthrough) had one when I had my interview, had one the other night. I will be wanting a Magnum when I actually start the job! :-)
I just got this from Newcastle:
You are 18th on the list so you are quite high up but they have only posted the top person on the list. Jobcentre Plus are in a recruiting position until the end of December. We will be in touch with you during that time if we are able to offer you a post. Otherwise we will contact you in January.
What do you think? :-)
That sounds good to me and you have much more info. than I have....I thought the freeze was still on as they told me will hear nothing til end Nov. ......I am wondering if we are emailing the same department? Either way it is v.positive. My int. was early Sept. too. Seems like years ago!
Fingers crossed!!!
p.s. what email are you sending to?0 -
Hi Topazstar.... I've Privated you the email ;-)0

How's B&Q looking after you?
Please don't apologise for having a moan about your problems. We all have a moan ocassionally, me included, it's only natural to vent and let of steam. That's why this forum is so great, cuz we all get on and support each other through the good and bad.
Thanks for your concern and good wishes. I'm sure I'll come up trumps before long.
P.S. Can I pass your details to the DWP for my personal reference - only joking
Hi there!
B & Q going really well - loving it! I know that you will hear something very soon - yeah feel free to mention my name for your ref...........in retrospect perhaps not the best idea when I think of the several cutting emails I have sent to DWP over the past few months .......;)0 -
Applied for EO position in Dundee 10th November. Had phone call today asking me to interview on 23rd November (Monday). Told them to stick their job where the sun don..................oh dear, this pesky keyboard appears to have a mind of its own;) ..........Anyway, as I was saying, naturally I thanked them for their very kind offer but that, sadly, I would be unable to attend as I have now gained employment elsewhere :rotfl:
B & Q going great! The job is really interesting and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The bunch of folk I work with are a scream - never a dull moment! Feel that I have really landed lucky.
Hang on in there everyone - your time will come very soon0 -

Glad to hear that you are enjoying your new job too! Its half the battle if you like the folk that you are working with. Best of luck!!!!!!!:D0 -
Good to see some fellow 60811'ers on here, must be a sign of getting fustrated. It really is a ridiculous process, and without wanting to get too political about it, in my eyes is another example of a !!!!-up by the present govt.
Anyway, a bit more 'non-news' went into my local JCP today and asked about it, even the assistant manager didn't know about any dates for new starters, apparantly they don't deal with it. (well who does?!?). She also said the internal candidates that were successful were in exactly the same boat as me. Then she suggested I contact Newcastle again, at this point I laughed, thanked her for her time and left.0 -
I'm the same. I have had my CRB check back have you. I called though and they said there is a freeze on recruitment and they would be contacting people from the end of November. They can tell you what number you are on the list as well. Dont really know what that relates to though. Hope you hear soon.
Yes I've had my CRB check back too, a few days ago. I'll have to give them a ring and see where I am on the list. Annoyed that there is a freeze on though. I was really raring to go when I got my success letter but just feel I'm stuck in limbo now. Very frustrating!!!
Well done to everyone who has started or is going to start shortly :T0 -

Also, do you know about pay dates? I start work November, 30.

Many thanks in advance.0
