OK So.....
Tart up your CV, register with loads of agencies and charm the pants off them!
The only job I have had since being back in UK was through a temping agency - The manager there treated me like her pet fave.... Unfortunately there aren't many jobs going to the agencies now from what I can see.
In the past I have got all my jobs through networking! things are a little different since the crisis! :-(0 -

1.I haven`t worked in the past two years.
2. Thank will try
3.I found that too while ago
4.Which jobsites? Can you please name some. ( I am not very good with filling their forms, but learning)
To be honest I am employed by local cancel as a supply in a school " officialy", but only been colled there twice in 3months - so I don`t class it as employement( not got paied for it yet, neather).
I got this job just by walking it the school and showing willingness. But I need more hours to keep my sanity.0 -
Hi Jamie,
I was told in an email they have recruited the first person at the top of the list and I am 17th..... This really is a game isn't it!! I don't know if I should apply for more jobs knowing I have this one in the pipeline.... I just finished some temping and there's nothing else for me at the agency I use.... maybe if I sign on and explain I am on the list to work with them they'll hurry me up!
I haven't received anything in paper yet, just emails - but they said I had all my checks done! this has been such a drawn out process and I can't believe the jobcentre are contracting out the recruitment..... I mean this is the JOBcentre.... anyway rant over!
Yes I'm in Worcestershire and waiting by the phone too. To be honest it's been that bureaucratic that I have forgotten the job description and the salary.... do you know? How's your experience been?
Rich :-)
Hi Rich - I kept a note of this and salary starts at about £20k and goes up to £24k...job description is pretty much as you would expect from the interview questions - managing people, working face to face with Job Centre applicants.....I think that is good news that they have recruited already but maybe it is different for diffent counties? i.e. Maybe Worcester freeze is already off......we are getting so close now it is nearly unbearable!!!!!! :eek:0 -

Hi Natomar,
Will try not to get too comfy.
Good luck to you too with your ET.
Have an interview next Tuesday for a temp job. Don't know what the salary or hours are until I attend but fingers crossed.
Have also filled in the online application for an AO position for my area so waiting to hear about that. Less money than the EO but more than JSA and could well be an earlier start than the EO one. Foot in the door and all that.
Take care and keep us updated.

Hi Topazstar!
Thanks for the heads up! So frustrating isn't it!?! When did you have your interview? Mine was Sept 18th..... Seems like a lifetime ago! My partner called about half an hour ago from work.... I was like "yeah yeah yeah.... anyway get off the phone in case the job centre try to call!" Haha! We had Champers the other day when I found out..... Seems like I've had a million of them now.... Had one when I was invited to the asessment (having no responses from my CVs this was a breakthrough) had one when I had my interview, had one the other night. I will be wanting a Magnum when I actually start the job! :-)
I just got this from Newcastle:
You are 18th on the list so you are quite high up but they have only posted the top person on the list. Jobcentre Plus are in a recruiting position until the end of December. We will be in touch with you during that time if we are able to offer you a post. Otherwise we will contact you in January.
What do you think? :-)

Hi richworcs
Not to rain on your parade or anything but I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet.
As can be seen on this thread, there are quite a number of people still waiting for the elusive "call" who passed interview quite a few months ago.
My interview was October so not waiting as long as you but it is frustrating. Especially when you see more posts being advertised for the same area.
I hope you do hear soon but just wanted to give you a heads up !!
You can always come join us on the bench !!
Good Luck and keep us updated. Always nice to hear when someone has received "the call".

Just reposting this for those who have waited so long they've forgotten (or may have applied before the July payrise)"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Hi people, I have a postion as an AO, but like most if not all was put on a waiting list. They have called my home twice to speak with me but i have been at work both times. They never leave a number for me to get back to them on, does anyone know a number i could call?
They have already sent letters out to my two REF's they got them in the post for me last week.
Starting to get a little worried because i am getting made redundant in my current job next Friday so would like to have a job for xmas

Thanks Darnay
I spoke to them last week and was told all checks complete and 15th on list. When I e-mailed yesterday they replied - all checks complete joint 38th on list!!!
Some idea of how many jobs there are and when would be useful but they don't seem to want to give this info (if they know themselves).
As you are number five on list you should hear before me - let me know how you get on.
Thanks again
