Sorry I never got back sooner about the phone number but gather from this post that you have called them now. At least you have some more information but a bit of a pain how it keeps changing!

Will look through the other posts later referring to 62504...
No worries Amy, I needed to make the call, I was deperate for an update. Not what I wanted to hear mind, but an update all the same. Keep in touch if you hear anything won't you?

    Thanks again

    Hi Mandie2106

Glad to hear you are getting on OK and enjoying your new role. It's good to hear what people are getting up to once they have started employment. BTW can you tell me what LMS stands for.

If I ever get a job with the DWP, I feel I need to know all the Lingo 1st :)

LMS = Labour Market System - it's the computer programme used by JCP, you will see it used each time you attend.

Congratulations to everyone who has received the call recently, good luck to everyone else waiting.

    Hi all
after my rant of yesterday about them advertising for positions in the Northwest I emailed Louise Perry asking what was happening. The reply

    RE: IRC 62336 & 62876

    Thank you for your email

We have contacted the Regional Recruitment Co-Coordinator from the North West for Jobcentre Plus with regards to your query.

The advice we have been given is that at present, the Posting Officers are in the process of contacting successful candidates to offer positions. However, they are required to follow a strict process whereby they must offer positions to those candidates who scored highest at interview, working down the list in merit order, whilst taking location preferences into account.

Jobcentre Plus are anticipating more vacancies early next year and going forward therefore vacancies are being advertised now to ensure candidates are available when the posts open.

With regards to the IRCs you have applied for I can confirm the following information. For IRC 62336 you are currently positioned joint 34th on the merit list and your pre recruitment checks are complete. I can also confirm that you are positioned joint 77th on the merit list for IRC 62876 with all your pre recruitment checks complete.

Jobcentre Plus are currently reviewing their staffing situation and future requirements. Hopefully Resourcing will soon be in a position to provide all successful candidates with more information.
Whilst Resourcing administer selection activity on behalf of Jobcentre Plus I should advise that any decisions regarding offers of employment are made by the local business area. I appreciate that you will be disappointed with my response, I do genuinely understand your frustration but regrettably until we receive further information from Jobcentre Plus I am unable to advise as to when postings will be made from the recruitment exercise.
Should you have any additional enquiries please do not hesitate to contact me again

IRC62336 is AO Blackburn and IRC62876 is EO all of Lancashire and Cumbria. So it looks as if they are moving on these posts now. I will await the call.
If you read the reply it looks as if it was a standard reply with some ammendments. The last paragraphs from Jobcentre Plus are currently reviewing their staffing situation and future requirements are part of the standard and what is above is the new part. They should check the message before sending.

Hi, I've been following the thread since my interview for 61880 on 7 Sept. Congratulations to all those around the UK who have started or have been given start dates. Received successful letter 3 Oct and was told last week that all my checks are complete. I havn't seen anyone one here who has been recruited for 61880 yet or have I missed them?

    Hey DellaD

I'm waiting in IRC 61880. Had a major rant last week after they basically told me my position on the merit list was 75th and not 5th as they had previously stated, and that my references and CRB had been done when they hadn't. Anyway, received an apology from them and clarification that i was back to 5th again and that finally my checks had been completed.

I know Coventry and Warwickshire had a meeting about AO staffing last week and the freeze was lifted. Not sure if they plan to start placing people before or after Christmas....

    Hi Bufty

Yes Pre recruitment checks do include references. However in many cases they do not contact them. If they can verify your work history with HRMC, who are co-operating with them in this exercise, then your refs will not be contacted. Also from what I understand they only do the checks on the number of candidates that they have vacancies for, even though it may be a while before you get posted. Perhaps Sammyjammy can verify this.

    Sorry no idea.
