Thank You .Fingers Crossed!!0 -
Just got the email i was waiting for and its the same ole nonsense.
She said,
JCP are currently reviewing their staffing intake and future requirements, hopefully we will soon be in a position to provide all successful candidates with more info. Any decisions regarding offers of employment are made by the local business area, regrettably until we receive further info from jcp i am unable to advise as to when postings will be made from the recruitment exercise. blah blah blah.
Nice...
I am so hoping that i get an job with someone else soon, i cannot believe how this has all worked out, can you? to have someone say to you, congratulations, you have the job, not only do you have the job, but you have promotion, then leave you hanging, for months, it just wouldn't happen anywhere else would it?
OK, sorry. ranting over.
I know how you feel, it was the same with me today when I called Newcastle. I've just resigned to the fact that I'm going to continue to contact other prospective employers and see how it goes. If I get the call from DWP then I can make a decision then.
BTW, ranting can be good for the soul at least when you've vented it helps you move on with more important tasks to hand

I had a call today offering me a post at Preston for the above IRC. I didnt know what to say as I started another new job on 2/11. Preston was my 2nd choice so I asked if I could hold out for my first choice as I would like to give this job a chance. The post was full time for 12 months ! I had my interview at Lancaster did you? You should hear soon. Good luck x0

Do you know your position on the list. I am also awaiting this IRC. I know that they are starting to post but do not know which areas are currently being posted.0 -
Is anyone waiting for a position in London? I see new people every week coming to training so I figured DWP are slowly taking people on board.0

Hi Whiskeyman
No, I do not mind saying what my disability is, I have spinal arthritis. This has been compounded from two serious car accidents. I also have arthritis in both hands, this doesn't assist me much when using my crutch.
My mom and my nan both have/had rheunatoid arthritis, my mom told me that it was hereditary. However, I have always been optomistic and thought it may miss me out. I'm nearly 40 and in the last 2.5 years I feel like I have aged another 20 years.
I just find it very embarassing and emotionally destroying having to explain to people, especially at interviews that I have a disability. I feel that they are impressed with me at the outset, they congratulate me on my cv etc. and when I tell them I have a disability the mood changes drastically - so much for equal opportunities.
This is the main reason why I applied for an EO role with the DWP. I applied to a large Union who were supposed to be Disabled Friendly Employers, I never even received a reply. I had an interview yesterday, they said they would let me knowby the end of the week. They also gave me an application form after the interview - strange! I'm supposed to fill it in and return it, I'll wait for the call first and take it from there as I am sick of wasting my time.

I know that your condition can be quite painfull and debilitating. My wife has arthritis throughout her body. When you have it in your hands especially the thumbs it is bad even to hold something sometimes. Also yes two car accidents will not have helped at all.
Do not be embarrassed at interviews, it is not your choice that you have what you have. Others should accept you for who you are. If you are capable of doing the job then that is what matters.
I hope that you get a post with DWP as they do seem to offer much for people with disabilities. I look forwards to the post when you say "I GOT THE CALL" or that you have got other employment.0 -
