Thanks Natomar, I need all the luck I can muster at the mo.

    Hi mbcomper
Sorry to hear of your nightmare interview! I have heard a few stories about manpower! interviews are bad enough without people being rude! you must have made a good impression though as you were successful ;) Mine was a lady from capita & a DWP employee and I must admit they were really nice, not had a interview for 15yrs so was really nervous, but they did put me at ease!
I know we all on here are fed up with the fiasco, but its a good place to get it off your chest and also to share others good fortune, people like Heather & you have given good advice and kind words to so many on here, and you know what they say "what goes around" so to quote whiskyman "I too hope you get what you deserve a good position in whatever you go for" really, really hope you get the call soon! fingers crossed xx
    Hi Natomar

Thank you for your kind wishes, It is really nice to know that there are people out there to support me, I really appreciate the encouragement from all of you.

I just hate it when people are treated unfairly or rudely due to no fault of their own. In the past I have contended with situation just to keep the peace and not bring unecessary attention to myself, I just got my head down and carried on as best as I could. However, sometimes you need to stand up and be counted and now I have all this time on my hands this is what I have now chosen to do.

Yes, Whiskeyman is so right my nan used to say the same, 'what goes around comes around'. I like that saying and I believe in it too.

Can I just say that this forum is a real support to us all, we're all in the same/similar boat with the DWP, some have had the call which is great and others like me are still waiting. I think without this forum, there would be many despondent and confused DWP applicants out there, so if we can all motivate each other and encourage each other to stay positive that has to be a good thing all round. :)

    Hi Amy

Welcome, thanks for posting your details!

I too have applied for the same IRC62504 EO Birmingham. Congratulations on being 15/128. I went for my N+L test 14/9 and interview 16/9 at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Sutton Coldfield.I am currently 68 on the list, I must call again for an update.

I was told originally I was 67/91, then 96/125 then I was told about three weeks ago that they had approved 28 from the top of the list for employment, so this brought me to position 68. So to be honest, I don't think they have a clue themselves lol.

I do know that my letter said I was on a waiting list for 12 months. I was also told by Newcastle that they do not process the CRB checks until they get the call from the Business Centre saying how many people they require, so I do not think you'll be waiting too long now. It might be that you get a start date in the new year.

You are only the third person I have seen on this forum who has applied for IRC 62504. So the more information the better, please keep us posted with any further developments.

    Thanks for posting your info!

    Hi there!
I have just been spending the last hour trawling through these posts and finding comfort in knowing that I am not alone! Surprised though that you say I am only the 3rd person from Birmingham area to post on here, wonder why that is. It seems that different information is being passed on depending on who you speak to and when you speak to them. I do hope you are right and that I will hear soon!! I will keep you posted!

    Hi Kingy 44,

Welcome, we'll budge up on the bench so you can sit with us.

I too have applied for an EO position, not the same IRC mind. However, my letter says the waiting list is for 12 months not 6??

I had my test 14/9 and interview 16/9, so not too long before you, very strange that you are only on a 6 month waiting list, I wonder why?

I too was made redundant unfairly in May 2009, if you need any help or just wanna chat and get things of your chest you are quite welcome to PM me, I may be able to help you, as I have applied to an employment tribunal. Sorry to hear of your unfortunate news, It's awful when kids get affected too.

Keep your chin up, I too felt really low for months, thankfully I had people I could talk to who motivated me to get back out there and turn things around for the better.

Good Luck & God Bless xx
    Hi mb again
Since the october freeze, a lot of people have said 6 months on their letters rather than 12 months, maybe they are trying to reduce the lists??

    Hi Natomar

I never thought of that Natomar, that's a valid point. I'm glad mine says 12 months then. Can we get some padded cushions for the bench then please? :)

    Hi again Amy

There are a lot of posts to read, I make sure I take a look every couple of days if I can. I am sure if you click on my name 'mbcomper' you will be able to look at my posts and see who the others are that relate to this IRC 62504. You can brush up on what's been said so far.

Could you please post the telephone number for Newcastle for this IRC, as I would like to call them again and get an update.

    Thanks in advance

    Tenth Anniversary
    Hi Mbcomper

Thanks for the kind words and will be nice to have somewhere comfy to rest my behind whilst waiting.:rotfl:

Currently in process of instigating tribunal so may need some advice/encouragement at some point !! Thanks. :o

Received my crb check yesterday and although I know that means nothing, at least I know things are moving.

Think Natomar is probably correct regarding the shortened waiting (and waiting and waiting and waiting) list.

It is nice to have people on here to "speak" to and I wish you all the very best.

    God Bless to you too.
    xx

    Hi Cap123

Thank you for your support and kind wishes. I have worked continuously for the last 24 years, so sitting at home is not doing anything for me at the moment, just making my symptoms worse.

Yes, I have been treated unfairly in the past and this has now made me more than apprehensive as I do not want to experience the same again.

Yes, the DWP do seem a friendly lot and I really hope I do get a job with them. However, I was 96/125 and have now recently moved to 68. I am not sure how many EO's they need for Birmingham. I wish now I had applied for the AO position too, I may have stood more of a chance getting in the door and could have progressed from there. Fingers xd though, I'll wait with the rest of you and be optomistic lol.

After seeing the DEA yesterday, I've got some numbers to call now, so hopefully according to the DWP they have some very good people out there who can assist me with a placement and assess my needs properly, prior to me taking a role elsewhere.

    Good Luck Everyone!

Hello mb, know what you mean by sitting at home, its so mind numbingly boring, i too have suffered unemployment since Dec last year for the first time in my working life and its so frustrating not earning, paying bills etc, i thought last Christmas was bad being made redundant but think this one is going to be worse! But onwards & upwards, i have a feeling that i may be getting somewhere today. Just had a reply back from Stephanie at customer resourcing to say she is going to check where i am on the list. My interview was for AO but got a call to say they have given me the EO role, cant help thinking that if i had said thanks but no thanks i'll go with the AO i would be working now. :o
