else I'm completely screwed and that's 5 months of my life, earning peanuts whilst I wait for this job.
At least you're earning. I'm unemployed and four months behind on my rent. I would have been up to date on my rent had my CRB check not gone AWOL...

So you have got your CRB / Disclosure Scotland back then? How long did that take, seems to be about just under 2 months? I was reading somewhere on the internet that a woman was told it is 12 weeks backlog!! So if it is about a month then it is not so bad....well for the powers that be anyway lol

You are right, it is such a frustrating process. You read and hear all over the internet that the JCP offices are crying out for staff but have to wait for the process. Absolutely mad. Really needs modernising lol

It is strange the way different recruitment exercises are run by different officers, although ultimately the end process is the same, slow thing. Each post I have applied to has been different in one way or another. TBH I am getting a bit peeved with it all. I am having another interview for another post this weekend and am boning up on my competences but really I feel that I have had enough of all this weirdness. I have found the Competency Based interviews a bit weird anyway.

In the early days of this stint of applications I noticed a lot of people had high hopes. There seems almost an acceptance that it is not worth the mither to go through all that stuff just to be on a waiting list for 12 months. The uncertainty can destroy people I am sure.

I agree vasia, this site has been good to share frustrations and know that all of our experiences are not unique!!!

I filled in a CRB on the 5th of March for an AO position. Later on when i was informed that i was sucessful, whatever that means, the Resource manager told me i wouldnt have to fill in another CRB form or complete any forms anew. And, I received it from Scotland, on the 30th of April, sent it to Newcastle on the day and reached them on the 5th of May. I only know this since i sent it recorded delivery. To be honest I thought most of us would have got their starting dates, but unfortunately this is not the case for the majority;which is sad, since other opportunities may or might have come up,if, at least myself, hadn't focused on the outcome of this recruitment.

    Agnetha,
Sorry but I don't understand what you're saying. How can you be four months behind with your rent? as you are unemployed surely you're receiving housing benefit.

Thanks sportfan. was joking by the way about spending some of my JSA on alchohol, as my claim for JSa was actually ended last Thursday at the actual office where i'll be working!! and there's a slim chance that I'll be trained by my original JSA personal adviser!!!

Rest assured though there is a 4 pack in the bottom of the fridge!!

The only preliminary CRB forms I have completed were for AO vacancies. For the EO vacancy that I am going into pre-employment checks, what happens? Do they have to send me the form in the post for me to fill in then send to Disclosure Scotland?

I was in the same position; when i was informed I was successful for the EO position, the resource manager told me I didnt need to fill in another CRB/Basic Disclosure since I had filled in one 2 weeks ago for an AO position. Yet from my understanding, resource managers deal with the process quite distinctively. All the best.

Well done Tony! It is nice to hear a happy ending, let's hope that the rest of us have the same outcome! You have prompted me to call Newcastle on Monday to see if my CRB is back. Cheers!!!!
