    Congrats!!

I gave up calling Newcastle owing to the fact there seems to be a variance of information? One guy was saying he first called and was told he was 2nd on list, then phoned a few weeks later to see how things were going to find he was something like 50th(?) !! So I will just wait and see, I think all phoning will do is use up more resource. Shame they can't seem to just mail or email the merit position? Still I do not know the process, so it is just wait for 12 months I guess!!!

Thanks! i'm going to hold calling the Newcastle office now as i understand their in the process of an office move! But i do take my hat off for the service so far!

I received a telephone call today and spoke to one of the regional recruitment administrators in London who has offered me my preferred location. :j

I explained I have been offered 5 positions so far, subject to CRB checks, and she gave me her direct email and has asked me to email her listing the other IRC offers I have received. She will ensure that my CRB, for the position she is offering, is copied to other IRC positions I have been offered.

She confirmed that due to the large number of vacancies and a lot of applicants applying for more than one vacancy, this has resulted in a slow down in CRB checks being processed. To help speed up my start date they are only awaiting CRB, even if references have not been received, as job offers are subject to satisfactory references anyway.

My CRB check should be completed within 3 weeks....fingers crossed.

    Yours.....

I think people arent realising that an AO post with DWP only requires a basic disclosure and hence goes to Disclosure Scotland.

Current turn around times are only 5 days, you can keep track of this on their website

    http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/news.htm

The delays are only on higher disclosures

I called them back, as nobody called me...

Now the story has changed... Apparently, they don't have any records of me on their system at all... Despite the interviews, assessments and all that which I have had to take off work.

So it looks like they have lost who I am... I'm gutted. :( I'm behind on rent this month because I had to take ATOS healthcare tests...

I can't believe how bad they are, this takes the p*ss. I really hope they find my files, else I'm completely screwed and that's 5 months of my life, earning peanuts whilst I wait for this job.

Oh. My. GOD!! This is a new low. (((you))

How have things been left? Have you had any written correspondence you can refer to/fax them?

Yeah I kept all my letters. Apparently somebody will call me... I'm not holding my breath.

Hope this doesn't happen to anybody else...

I am completely struggling financially and turned down another job for this.

Does anybody know if there's any way I can claim back the money I'd have earned on the days I took off for DWP? I lost almost a week's wages in all.

Thanks to everyone who has posted comments on here in respect of our quest for the elusive start date!

    Guess what.....

I've managed to get through to the Newcastle office who advised me that my checks had been completed and an email had been sent yesterday to the job holder to contact me....

Just had a call from the JC I was hoping to be placed at and they have offered me a start date Monday 18th May!!!

All I need to do now is SIGN OFF!!!

I'll stay on the thread if anybody needs any further information and assistance!!
