  • im not a regular poster here but a regular viewer and just wanted to say WELL DONE! to everyone who waited out so long to get the job i hope you enjoy it.

still waiting on my reply letter even, so its very annoying especially with Christmas round the corner.
  • :T Congratulations to all that have had "the call" this week. If I am last in here I will turn out the light and lock the door when i leave lol.
  • CONGRATS to all who have had the call!

Sweet thats fab news hunni, im so glad they got back to you with a better offer hehe! xx

Well ive almost finished my 2nd week and its still good so far (altho between e-learning and shadowing....it is getting a little boring, i just want to get into it!) I have training all next week between Falkirk and Dunfermline so hopefully after that i can start doing a bit more! The one thing thats not been so great is that when my line manager cant think of things for me to do, or when shes busy, she has me alphabetically sorting the filing, doing audits on the stationary (ie, counting leaflets and forms lol). Ach well...got to take the good with the bad i guess!

Ohhh and i forgot to say, i emailed my manager today (not my line manager, but THE manager lol) and asked about the procedure for me applying for external vacancies and she was very supportive. Said that i am of course eligible to apply for both internal and external vacancies and that it may lead to either another fixed term appointment OR a permanent progression......so def gonna apply now :) Even if it is just to get a permanent contract...thats the main thing for me! Id hate to be out of a job next December after all of this lol. So ive to nip into her office if i want more help or assistance with it and she'll see when shes got time to spend with me! Bonus!
  • Yes it will be interesting for you to be back at training centre and digest the feedback from the others.......I had to laugh yesterday (sorry!) when you mentioned about the chav! Its just exactly the sort of thing one hears at my local jobcentre (the signing on desks are 3 yards from the "waiting area" so one can't help but overhear). Strange that the folk you have been shadowing don't follow the process that the Manager is showing you.......perhaps when you have been there a while you start to cut corners?

Yeah, Manager told me that you need to check that jobseeker has used three different methods for job search as per agreement, none of the people signing on the customers were checking for three methods. This is stage 2 btw. Really need to get back to my training group and digest feedback like you said.. Hope I get access to RM tomorrow, really bored of the shadowing, would rather do the e-learning. I know people are saying enjoy it while you can, but it's really boring just sat there doing nothing, counting down the time to tea breaks and lunch breaks..lol

Yes, I had my interview on the same day, I think my interview was at an earlier time, around 2pm, I didn't pass though

Ah sorry to hear that mate - you know with these assessment centres alot depends on who interviews you. The first time i applied for a job a the DWP for another AO position the interview was awful and so i wasnt surprised when i was unsuccessful. however after that I applied for an EO and managed to be successful for that so the person interviewing you can really influence whether you're successful or not.

I do see however from your posts that you have a role now (are you not enjoying it?)- where are you based if you dont mind me asking?

I had a call on IRC 62668 asking for my preferred location, anyone else in London got this call?

I've had a success letter for IRC62668 and following an enquiry I made know that I am 25th on the merit list for it but have not had a call thus far - do you know what position you were on the merit list by any chance? I'd imagine you'd be in the top 10 at the very least...

I also attended an interview for IRC 63183 today at WHU football club - was in an Exec box with a full view of the pitch. Any one else on here attend today? Found the time limit on the presentation really tough and ran out of time. Interview went okayish but I get the feeling from the questions they asked me the skills I have arent quite what they are looking for but I guess there was no harm in trying.

I asked have I definately got a job she said yes there will be a posistion for me but she could not give my a start date. It seems like I've just got to hang on in there.
