  • Congratulations to everyone who has recently got the call. Just a quick question for those who are starting soon, how long from success letter to call were you waiting?

I had my success letter in the middle of September I had a call a few days later to ask me my preferred area and then had a call on the 29th October offering me a position....so all in all I didn't fair too badly at all......I found this forum and was expecting to wait till January, it at all!!!

Success letter end of August, CRB received about 3 weeks after. Then the freeze happened so this delayed the call a bit. Got the call yesterday so about 2 and a bit months. The entire process from application to the call however was about 5 months.

as most of u will know i got offered a job for AO which was more of a marketing job, which i turned down, however i rcvd a letter saying thankyou for accepting position, which was confusing, on Sammy's advice i called them to clarify what was going on and see if they had anything else,

well a lovely lady called carol called me back today, to offer me a customer based position in a better location ie cavendish court, on same terms pay etc, starting training on Monday at doncaster, so i asked if this wud be ok as i had prev turned position down, lucky me as they hadnt got me down as saying i didnt want the position, i cud accept this one, so at least there mess up was a good one for me lol
so as of Monday im an AO and a very happy lady, thankyou Sammy and every1 else who has sent lovely msgs of support etc, im going out tomo to :beer::beer::beer:, good luck every who is still waiting

Thanks ever so much for getting back to me, i heard that people just joining the company start on a lower rate and after 3 or 6 months of work the salary rises?

Does anyone know if this true?

    Cheers:T
    Load of rubbish :D

Everyone will start on minimum and this will not rise until 1st July when payrise due (if we get one!)

Just wondering....for the people that are lucky enough to be picked up as a contracted AO, are they entitled to sickness and holiday benefits? If so, how many sickness days and Holidays does an AO on a short term contract get?

There is no sickness entitlement although any short term sickness is paid at full pay.

New starters get 22 days in first year rising to 25, it doesn't matter what type of contract you are on, obviously if you are on a contract of less than a year it will be pro rata of 1.83 days per month.
