well I got the call today at last. Like Richyvezy, I applied for a position in the Newport BDC around May and we both had an interview end of August. Then the "freeze" happened and we have been patiently waiting for them to call.

Was phoned today and told there were now no vacancies available for the Newport BDC at which point I thought it would be a case of no job for me. Then I was told a few positions had arisen in the Cardiff area and I was offered a post in a JC in Cardiff.

Perfect, I live in Cardiff so this saves me £60/month on train fair :D

I start Nov 23rd and can't wait. I have been working in M&S for the past couple weeks on a temporary Xmas contract and my feet can't take much more standing up for 8 hours a day hehe.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. Hope to hear soon that you got the call.

Snap I have also been working at M & S for the past 6 weeks and hate it...my last day tomorrow....yay....
I start with the DWP on Monday 16th...

    Good luck..:j

    Hi Mo

Which area have you chosen as your preference area for IRC 62668?

I chose Tottenham, Wood Green and Enfield, in that order as I live within a 10 minute walk to the Tottenham JCP, Wood green is a 10 minute bus ride and likewise for Enfield.

    How about you?
Just out of curioisty what time and date did you have the Watford interview, if you can remember of course.

If I remember correctly it was the 12th of August at 4/5PM. Did you apply for that role too?

    Mo

Yes, I had my interview on the same day, I think my interview was at an earlier time, around 2pm, I didn't pass though

Just got the call as promised at the end of last week :j. I'll be working in the National Insurance Team in Cardiff and start on 30th Nov. Not one of my my top choices but pleased all the same.

Only slight concern is that the contract is only fixed till end of Feb 2011 so not quite the 18 month I was expecting .

Congrats to everyone else who has had the call and for those still waiting, hang in there as it will happen.

I had my interview in july and got the letter saying they were doing my pre-recruitment checks in early august and didnt hear back from until yesterday, so dont give up guys, your call will come!! Good luck everyone hope you get posted soon. All the best!!!!
    Hi everyone
Am new to this so please bear with me. I had my interview for IRC 58752 East Midlands in April and success letter dated 11th May. I FINALLY got the call last week to start at Derby Jobcentre on 23rd November. Wohoo! It wasn't even in my top 3 locations and will involve a half hour train journey each way, but I was jiggered if I was going to turn it down!!
I had totally lost faith that I would ever get placed but now it has finally happened I am ecstatic.
Good luck to all thpse waiting and don't give up like I almost did!!

CONGRATULATIONS to you all hope everything goes well

Congratulations! Its worked out really well for you with the position being in Cardiff, so no tedious train journey costing a bomb. Good luck for the 23rd :j

I know - I see some people have been waiting since July (Heather).

If they send the confirmation e-mail through for interview then I'll definitely go to Caithness - I've got nothing else. There's probably more chance of a job up there than there is in North Staffs anyway!!

    :rotfl:
If you are travelling by car, take plenty of flasks, blankets, a spade and de-icer. Its really cold in Caithness and the roads are often closed due to snowfall. If you are going by rail, be aware that the train journey to Lybster is LONG. You have to change at Inverness, then the slow and infrequent connection north stops at every wee station en route. Either way, you will need to allow 2 days for the travelling alone, so you will need to stay overnight. Not trying to put you off, but forewarned is forearmed.....:D
