    Thank you for that!
I am not going to stop searching for a position as the salary is 1/3 less than I was getting whilst employed. Plus my old job was 10 mins walk away. But, it is a start.

    Thylacine,
I am so looking forward to Bonfire night in Lewes. Party time!!
Congrats to you viaggiopics, must have missed you out earlier!
    Enjoy your party
  • Right I have had my actual contract of employment - it reads from 19/10/09 - 31/12/10 - so only 14 months.

There is also a paragraph on the front page that reads "should it be necessary to terminate your appointment before this date you will be notified in writing and will receive the requisite period of notice.

Can someone with more knowledge help me out here - isn't there some sort of rule about terminating a contract??? Up to 18 months is there get out clause for only giving us 14 months.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

sorry i can't given an informed answer to this but i look forward to hearing from someone who does know.
so, 18 months has changed to 14 months and now even 12 months!
they constantly change the goal posts, the union want jobcentre plus to be an employer of perm not temp staff, i hope they push for that.

They have to give you either six months notice of the contract ending or six months pay in lieu so plenty of time to look for a new job if they do end it early.

Am I the only one left still waiting on 60535 on here? Think the rest have been placed.

Just got a really bad feeling something is going to happen and I wont get the call  By the numbers given to me I should have been called by now

    Hi PontyEnd,

No, your not the only one not placed for 60535.

In my last posting ( 30/10/09 Pg 330 - 6596 ) I said I had a call from DWP, who confirmed that it would be very unlikely be placed in this round of vancancies.

Try ringing the number on the ltr dated 22/10/09 or emailing them, I got a reply in a few days.

If you need those details PM me and I will supply them.

Keep your chin up, I know it's hard I have been unemployed now for a year and when I original got the success ltr I thought I had won the jackpot.

Now I am looking for work again and fed up of being kicked in the teeth.

Hope you get GOOD news soon.:j

No, I think there's still quite a few out there still waiting for this one  Not heard anything since the letter regarding the freeze. Dunno whether I am still on the list or not, cos they sent me confirmation they had transferred by refs etc to another IRC. Where are you on the 'list'?
  • Can anyone tell me the best time of day to phone Newcastle? Everytime I ring, I can never get through to anyone.

Well done to those who got the call and those who got other jobs!
