  • I was on the list for Hyde BDC and was horrified to hear the news yesterday, Today I received an email asking me if I wanted to be transfered to a job centre instead, and where would be my preferences in the area, so fingers crossed again.
  • IRC 61505, i called yet again today and they said the freeze is still on and they dont know when it will be lifted, they said im 48th on the merit list and that is all they can tell me, when i asked for an email address of the local regional head office they said they cant do that as they are responsible for the recruitment excercises so they are the people i have to talk to yet they cant tell me any thing!!!!!!
So if any1 else has this IRC number and hears anything please post to keep me infomed and ill do the same thanks.

    THIS JUST GETS WORSE!!!!

    Interview 04/09/09
Success Letter 15/09/09 (Waiting List 12 Months)
    CRB 29/09/09
Interviews still being held for IRC 61153 on 26 & 27/10/09??
Email reply 26/10/09 you are 49th on the MERIT LIST not WAITING LIST???

TODAY DWP Vacancies EO & AO positions for the exact same locations!!! what is going on??

I telephoned newcastle and asked is the freeze still on? "in some areas"

Why are identical jobs in same areas being readvertised, when you have a minimum of 80 people on MERIT/WAITING LISTS, "I cannot answer that, I will have to speak to JCP and ask them"
I asked for a contact number or position of person at JCP I could speak to, "I'm sorry I cannot give out that information"
He did however say that he find out what was happening and call me back!!!
WONDER HOW LONG THAT WILL BE??????

Hey Aqua, that is very strange that you passed the numeacy and lit tests and didnt get an interview, as its usually automatic interview if you passed tests.
However they are messing every one around at the moment. you can however apply for other dwp jobs and not have to do the test part again sceen as you have passed.
As a thought was this an AO or EO position as you may have passed at AO level score and the job being EO means you dont get an interview.

This was for an EO role and Idid pass the tests to EO level. The letter states so.I called them up on Friday 30th and on 2nd Monday the letter was sent.It is not the same person who sent me the earlier letters. The letter looks unprofessional, does not state details clearly

It could be that even though you did pass the tests, due to the sheer number of those applying and passing they decided to take the top x candidates that passed and progress them. In other words they have probably progressed those with higher pass mark.

Similar thing happened to me for an AA posistion a while ago, they didn't inform me, I only found out when I called and chased up.

    Hope this helps
  • yeah, i think thunderb0lt has hit the nail on the head there.
