Got a phone call out of the blue today for a position I applied for ages ago and had forgotten about. Got an interview tomorrow morning. Its for a permanent position with B & Q in their office. £9 an hour. Suit and blouse pressed already........:D
Best of luck heatherblether....sounds good!!;)0 -
Hi all, Congratulations to all those with start dates:)
Can anyone help...
I had an email today from DWP resourcing-I'm 21 on their waiting list and checks completed successfully. Is this the Merit list or something else?
The email also said that the freeze is still on until the end of November?!!!!
Jess:)
Hi Jess
I was also told i was on the waiting list it then turned out that everyone on my IRC was on the waiting list because they had interviewed during the recruitment freeze...I then became 3rd on the merit list....so its worth checking....Jx0 -
Hi all
Just happened across this website again, its the union for JCP. Take another look, www.pcsedinburgh.co.uk then click on 'latest on current recruitment campaign'. Makes interesting reading! see what you think.0 -
Checks only valid for 3 months? Its getting worse by the second.........
Thanks unluckyone, cap123 and Janabiyah-Jane for your good wishes for tomorrow. Its not a full time job (24 hours) but at £9 an hour and with tax credits and the money I get from the CSA I will certainly be a lot better off financially. Here am I getting ahead of myself again - already decided the job is MINE lol! Will give it my best shot anyway.0 -
Good luck UNLUCKYONE for tomorrow's assessment. As you say, needs must. I am regretting "winging it" for the temp job I am in just now. It is SO boring - watching paint dry would be more exciting. I can't imagine anyone wanting to do it on a permanent basis. I certainly won't be. :eek:0

Thanks for the link, it does shed light on our current situation. My only concern is that the Union might pressure the DWP to promote band B to fill band C roles in which case it would affect EO positions.
This is the height of confusion and frustration.0 -

Thanks for that! My daughter has informed me that there is "no way you're wearing that boring suit Mum" and has picked out dress trousers, blouse and jacket from her wardrobe for me to borrow. I thought I would look a bit "mutton dressed as lamb" in the ensemble but, actually, I look rather nice and better than the "suit" lol! No doubt I will find out there is a "hire charge" later :rotfl:0 -

I agree. My only concern is that the link is dated 2008 and we are now past October.....I am generally quite an intelligent person but have to say that I don't understand this whole scenario of recruitment AT ALL. Totally fogged.0 -
Hi all Has anyone applied for IRC 60778 EO in Milton Keynes. I am not having any luck in getting a start date. Had my interview on 13th July. Newcastle are just saying no start date confirmed yet and it is up to JCP in Milton Keynes. So frustrated as I have been unemployed 7 months and no longer get any Job Seekers Allowance !0
