I would also suggest that you contact your MP. Afterall it is a government agency.
already done both of those.0 -
(laughs) I can't cope with all this, I was absolutely crestfallen 20 minutes ago. Now I've got my fingers crossed all over again!0

Hi
Congratulations on your job as an AO and good luck for the EO position too. Are you referring to IRC 62504, when you say you are 5th on the list?
I hope I am not being rude, but this is only the second reply I have received to my posts on MSE for this job description, so I can ask some questions of you?
Why will it be a month before you hear anything else?
Is it OK with the DWP to take a job as an AO and then move on to an EO grade within the space of a few months?
It sounds like they have all the EO's they need for the time being, do you know how many EO's are required for this job title IRC 62504?
Which office do you work in now and what is FJR?
Thanks in advance on answering some of the above Q's!
Hi,
Yes I am referring to IRC 62504, no worries about the questions, I'll answer as best as I can
I only know it will be at least a month as that is what I have been told by Newcastle, they emailed me saying they won't know anything for at least a month.
My office had no problem with me applying for EO and were in fact very encouraging. It seems they are happy for people to progress. My opinion is they want to keep good people and not see them leave for other industries because they are frustrated by their lack of progress. If I am really lucky, due to me being new and on training a position may come up that allows me to stay in my office. Normally promotion means a change of office. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as my office has a good team who work well together and I am very happy there.
All I know is rumour and speculation, nothing is 100% confirmed to me. It seems most offices in Bham Solihull are close to full staffing and any vacancies have been filled from the current waiting list. While on training at district in Erdington recently I was told that they were looking for 120 EO's for IRC62504's waiting list, I have no way of confirming this is correct.
FJR is an AO band B position, Fortnightly Jobsearch Review. Basically interviewing fortnightly (& weekly) customers on their jobsearch and answering any queries we can.
Hope that helps!

The news you Hyde people have recieved is unbelievable! I'm concerned I'm going to be in the same boat as the IRC I'm waiting on was for a Contact Centre - which we all know is part of the change also along with BDCs.0

FINALLY I got the call!!!!! I received my waiting list letter on 18th August and phoned the CRB people on 16th October who claimed they had no record of an application for my checks, but today while I was out shopping I got a missed call on my mobile. I called back and spoke to one of the lady's colleagues who wanted to confirm that I was still interested and when I could start. I explained that I have a holiday (which I won!!) booked for next week but I can start on 24th. He said they'd book that in as a provisional date to start, but to call him when I was home either this evening (unfortunately didn't get home in time) or tomorrow morniing and he'd give me the details of my line manager etc.
The job I went for was an EO position in Cardiff, apparently I'll be working in Canton as a Personal Adviser, I presume that's 'frontline'? I'm so excited, I've been unemployed for 6 months following redundancy so am looking forward to starting work again. I can't wait to speak to the guy again tomorrow and find out all the information and get the start date confirmed.
Good luck to everyone else who's waiting, hopefully lots more calls will be received this week!!0
