DWP employment waiting list

More AO positions being advertised for Greater Manchester area, I don't understand it, why don't they just ring the people that are waiting on the merit list now, like me and a few others on here.0
-
I know it's unbelievable, you'd think they would put me and you who are on the Merit List for this area into work and anyone else on the Merit List THEN hold more interview excercises. I suppose with it only being listed for a few days they may just need a few more candidates and can then begin posting everyone0

And have you noticed it is now a 12 month contract and not 18 months.0 -
Certainly have (sighs) along with the 'limited' possibility of extension or permanent contract0

palm sweating, heart racing strees.
your line manger on top of you all of the time.
tough customers with HIGH targets to meet lol.
doesn't sound great does it lol.
if i had to just sit and make my calls all day, you know, like warm sales or something then i guess i could give it a go but like i say, at this moment in time, i have absolutely NIL confidence in myself.
how do you even open a sales call?
manage call control?
close the sale?
conversion is the amount of people you actually speak to (who are in) that you convert into sales - its useful to know this when you get days where many people are out ..
You may be working on a dialer system, so the computer will control your call flow which, in experience, can range from slow to very fast! Structuring your call and gaining interest is key to sucess - be yourself - build rapport and take an interest in the other person - listen to what they say - pass on relevant features and benefits of the product, and objection handle based on what your customer says - it's. Tough role, you need to stay positive! Hope this helps0 -

Hi platterfish,
Many thanks for your reply.
Have you done this sort of role before?

FINALLY I got the call!!!!! I received my waiting list letter on 18th August and phoned the CRB people on 16th October who claimed they had no record of an application for my checks, but today while I was out shopping I got a missed call on my mobile. I called back and spoke to one of the lady's colleagues who wanted to confirm that I was still interested and when I could start. I explained that I have a holiday (which I won!!) booked for next week but I can start on 24th. He said they'd book that in as a provisional date to start, but to call him when I was home either this evening (unfortunately didn't get home in time) or tomorrow morniing and he'd give me the details of my line manager etc.
The job I went for was an EO position in Cardiff, apparently I'll be working in Canton as a Personal Adviser, I presume that's 'frontline'? I'm so excited, I've been unemployed for 6 months following redundancy so am looking forward to starting work again. I can't wait to speak to the guy again tomorrow and find out all the information and get the start date confirmed.
Good luck to everyone else who's waiting, hopefully lots more calls will be received this week!!
SO PLEASED FOR YOU!!
I too am waiting for this EO, we interviewed on the same day and both went on 6mth waiting lists. I really hope Im next.

I've just spoken to the Recruitment Team Leader in Newcastle for IRC61866.
She assured me that the pause has been lifted and the posting of successful candidates should be anytime now.
Apparently, Newcastle Shared Services have completed all checks for the candidates for this IRC and have advised the business (i.e. Hyde BDC) that X amount of candidates are good to go.
So, as soon as Hyde BDC are ready for the next batch of people they will make the call.
So, I've called Hyde Jobcentre, got the name and number for the Hyde BDC manager, who unfortunately wasn't in the office at the time so I am now waiting for him to call me back.
I really hope he surprises me and does actually call me back.
If anyone should know when the next batch of people will be called it's him.0 -
