I have this bad feeling that everyone on my IRC has already been posted. Is there any way of finding out how many people have been posted on an exercise? My merit list number didn't seem to make any difference at all, and I am still waiting to hear. Not sure why I am thinking this, but I just have this dread that everyone (except me) has been placed. I know there have been quite a few other adverts for the same kind of areas since. The way things have been going I have visions of being told...oh that exercise has closed or something!

When i was still waiting i phoned the number on my success letter (luckily my guy usually picked up) and when i was told my position on the merit list i asked how many people had been posted for that IRC and he was able to tell me so they must have that information. Its maybe worth asking someone if its causing you worry xx
  • Good luck this week everyone. Hopefully we will get a few more calls!

    What is your IRC?

61099. Been waiting since July, and whilst I know it isn't that long it is just because I know lots of people have been posted on the exercise. I asked last time if they could tell me how many had been posted but they said they couldn't.

Has anyone ever been told that despite being successful, they won't be posted?

What's the longest anyone has had to wait, or has waited for?
  • Hi there, i went for an interview in Sept at the carlton hotel in Edin.for EO, I have had the "you been successfull letter" and my disclosure has also been recd. but when i tel them at Newcastle the lady said my details had gone to my area of choice ie Edinburgh and if I hadnt heard anything by mid Nov to tel her back. Just wondered what everyone else has been told and if anyone has actually started in a position.
    cheers

I don`t want to depress you all too much but i was just talking to a lady working on the job centre enquiry line and she waited 12 months before she got a start date!
Think it`s time we started looking for work elsewhere!

Thats bad news for those of us on a 12 month waiting list innit?
  • Hi every 1,
I was wandering if any1 here applied for IRC61505 i had my interview on 4th August and by the end of Aug i recieved my Crb from the dwp, then on 1st Sept i recieved a letter saying i had been successful, no mention of a waiting list, have phoned the dwp loads since and have been told they are in the process of checking their staffing levels and that i am on a merit list placed 48th.
Am getting totally sick of waiting and hearing nothing, so was wandering if any1 else applied for this job and whether or not they had been placed yet.
    Thanks x

Hi there! From what I can gather, once your details have been passed to your business area (Edinburgh in your case) it usually isn't very long until you hear with a start date. There are not many folk from Scotland on here who have had start dates recently. Two from Fife and one from Dundee, if I remember rightly. Nobody from your neck of the woods so far. I am (still) waiting for a start date in Dundee ;)
