  • FINALLY received my CRB after waiting ages for it (well, ages compared to most peoples timescale on here) should I be waiting for another letter now to offer me a job/not offer one or do they just phone?
Congratulations for everyone receiving the call recently.

Ok, forgot to write that number down, then the forum was down till 6 :o

But, got through to the number on that letter, the person whose name is on it wasn't there but the lady who answered asked if she could help. I basically asked her if she could tell me where I was on the list and would I get a call anytime soon.

I'm now 90, and she said "looking very good for a December start and a call within the next few weeks", she also stated they were close to me.

To be honest a December start would be good only if I get to know pretty soon as I am currently working but would like to finish before the end of November, so would help with notice and financial planning, not to mention I have a small holiday end of Nov that current work don't know about as I didn't think I'd be there

So it just looks like more waiting this next week for the call. You should be very close to a call with the numbers she said. It's reassured me more speaking to someone though even though it's basically what we already knew.

Was the letter from Shared Services in Newcastle (0191 number) ?

If it was I wouldn't pay too much attention to the woman on the phone, she would not know any of that information apart from your place on the list, as has been discussed before the lists get passed on t othe area of the business with the vacancies, its them who make offers nad who know how many people they can take on, it may well be worth making another call on Monday and see if you get the same answer.

yeah i agree with Sammy, i was told yesterday over the phone from the 0191 number i was 52, but got an email yesterday saying im 77 on the list from resourcing, whats that all about then, im inclined to believe the 1st guy as he said after taking all the ppl off the list ie declined ppl, ppl who have failed crb etc etc i was 52 on the list so presume (as it took him ages to give me an answer) he has looked further than my actual position at that time (ie prob 77) and told me what it would be once those have been taken off the list, although i cud be totally wrong and im so clever im on 2 lists lol :rotfl::rotfl:

No this was the business centre, or whatever they call it, as it was a local number. Least it has moved in the right direction anyhow.

My theory with the list numbers is say you're 35 but there are ten people with the same score, someone may tell you 35 but another could notice that 27-37 are all on the same score so will tell you that you are 27th.

sweetikklemunchkin, 77th could be right as the lady said they were up to the late 60s at the moment so you're pretty close.

I had interview in August for IRC60811 - Shropshire. Had my success letter and then Disclosure this week. When I email or call, I just get told nothing is happening until end October or maybe even later.....
Trouble is, when I got the success letter I told my current employer!!!
I am forty-somthing on the merit list.
Really really hope we ALL hear something soon.
This is such a strange process and the long wait stressful.

    LOL :rotfl:

I'm literally the other way around.

I interviewed for the Shropshire IRC in September, got my success letter 3 weeks later and found out yesterday that my CRB check was sent back to DWP on 26th October - I've not received it yet, though. I had an email telling me I'm 92nd on Merit List so it all seems to be swings and roundabouts really.

If you are told that you are joint 60th for e.g. on a merit list out of 120, does this mean that there are 120 people altogether on the list, or does it mean that there are more because some people scored the same and so are at the same position?

    Hope that makes sense!
  • i would assume that there are 120 altogether and u are maybe joint because if 2 people scored the same who would u put at 60 and who at 61? lol. Ah it made sense when i said it in my head, now it doesnt, but u knwowhat i mean hopefully lol

I have this bad feeling that everyone on my IRC has already been posted. Is there any way of finding out how many people have been posted on an exercise? My merit list number didn't seem to make any difference at all, and I am still waiting to hear. Not sure why I am thinking this, but I just have this dread that everyone (except me) has been placed. I know there have been quite a few other adverts for the same kind of areas since. The way things have been going I have visions of being told...oh that exercise has closed or something!

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have been uneasy since reading on here that JCP are coming to the end of their recruitment exercise. Does that mean all areas or just some? And how on earth are we to find out?
