DWP employment waiting list

Has the recruitment freeze been lifted in all areas? If so, how on earth do we get through to Newcastle to find out our chances of becoming employed? I've tried 4 different numbers and not one of them has been answered :-(

ETA: Just spoken to someone and he said they still haven't heard from JCP re. the job freeze so as far as they're concerned, it's still on :-(

Yay I have been offered the job (not in my preferred location) but with part - time hours during the school holidays as requested....I start on the 16th November!! :j

Good luck everyone who hasn't heard yet....

How long were you waiting for and what area?

well today at dinner time i got the call
16th november
but as it is not what i wanted or the dept i thought it would be i am not taking it, so 1 lucky person who was not going to get the call maybe in with a chance, im gutted but at least i have a choice of what i wanted to do, good luck to every1 waiting xx

Was there not a chance to be offered anything else later on? If you don't mind me asking what do you mean by department and what area did you get offered? Was that a 16th Nov start date? That's quite soon considering some get given 5 weeks ones!

You are 26th on the merit list. JCP are reviewing there staff numbers at the minute so I am unable to give a timescale when start dates will be offered. The business will get in contact once they have more information.

I was interviewed on the 29th August
Received my success letter 23rd September
Advised I was 3rd on list last week
Offered job last Thursday
Advised I could have preferred hours today

It is for EO Nottingham area....

In the great scheme of things I really haven't waited that long....I took a Christmas job as I assumed that I would be waiting till January!!!

The poster you are referring to has been on here for several weeks, maybe even a couple of months so a lot of us know exactly what they are referring to. Maybe you would like to review their posts and then you would know also (and possibly not offend said person with your rather ill worded post).
