DWP employment waiting list

Just a quick note to let everyone know. I attended interview for IRC62668 (London) dd 7 Oct. received success letter dd 20 Oct stating was successful and dwp were completing pre employment checks.
Emailed resourcing today and was told I was 144th out of 400, bit disappointed at first but confirmed with resourcing that tjis IRc was recruiting for 750 positions, so presume one of them will come my way, I guess its a waiting game.

Have to say having worked in the private sector all my life, the recruitment process here seems a little painful.

Finaly got the call yesterday for irc60535 start 23rd nov and cnt wait! Wks training in doni then will be in a barnsley job centre although nt sure which one yet! So xcitd t start now!

Did you know what number on the merit list you were?

Hi no never found out my position on the merit list! Was offerd t start 23rd nov 4 wks training in doni, or 30th 4 training in rotherham! Optd 4 doni just want to start asap, only 12 month cotract bt thats fine. Did u no ur place on merit list? From having interview july cnt believe the waits over! X

Apparently I Was 100/300 but that was ages ago so I got told people would drop out etc so fingers crossed. You've got my local one too! 30th would be ideal for me as I'm away week before :eek:

I'd emailed the name on the letter I got over weekend to find out more just waiting for a response.

July was same as me, applied May, tests June, interview July, success letter August, CRB September, all I need now is call Oct and a start Nov :rotfl:

Well I have just received the call, but I am not going to get excited yet!! I have been offered a position in my least favourite JCP as the others have no vacancies as yet, she said I could stay on the list till May but as JCP are coming to the end of their recruitment exercise there are no guarantees...

I have advised I would like to take the position but really need part time during the school holidays, so she was going to contact the business manager at the JC and find out if that was possible....

Have I made a mistake, should I have just taken the job and then negotiated the hours after training when I would have been in a better position???

Not sure if I have done the right thing but just wanted to be honest up front.....what do you guys think???

I think you have done the right thing by being honest. It's better to know if they can accommodate you now or not.

It was a lady called diane pearson that rung, she said i would be at either barnsley, wombwell, mexbrough or goldthorpe job centre, al easy 4 me t get to as i drive! Im sure you will hear soon and dnt worry i missed her call bt she lft me a voice msg t ring her back!

J-J think you have done right thing asking about the school hols etc. I would do the same.
