You could email the District Manager thats relevant to the post, if you tell em the area I can look it up for you or you could ask in your local Jobcentre.

  • It always seems to be the same reply, the only thing we want to hear is that we have a job, anything else is going to disgruntle us.
I emailed again yesterday as it was the end of October and she said just to email towards the end of next week and she will see then if she has had any steer from the business, no doubt when next week will come I will get the same story.

Would you be able to provide me an email address for the above. I've received a success letter at the beginning of September and a crb but nothing since. DWP said it had been passed on to business services but don't have a way to contact them to make sure all is o.k and progressing. My position is for a AO - East of England (IRC61569).

Just a quick update for those of you waiting for this area, i emailed business services and this was the reply:

Thank-you for your email regarding exercise IRC61569.

Firstly. please accept my apologies for any difficulties you encountered when attempting to contact Resourcing for an update on the status of your application, we had been experiencing some telephony issues which have since been rectified. If you have any difficulties in the future please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

In regards to your position on the merit list, I can confirm you are currently joint 16th on the merit list. I should explain that whilst Resourcing administers selection activity on behalf of Jobcentre Plus, any decision to offer a successful candidate a post is made by the business area. Currently Jobcentre Plus are reviewing their staffing requirements across this region; they have advised that they expect this process to be complete within the next few weeks. Unfortunately, until we receive further information from Jobcentre Plus, we are unable to post successful candidates from this selection exercise.

Once we have received this decision we hope to begin contacting successful candidates for posting in merit order.

I hope this email helps to clear up any questions you have about the current situation, however if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact me.

    Many thanks

So back to square one again...........................................................

I know someone from the same exercies as us who was posted in cambridge a couple of weeks ago who was position 48 I think. Just goes to show you how pointless the merit lists are.

I just received an email back from them saying there are 117 people on the merit list and that 'the recruitment freeze' is still on!! Last week I was told they had started recruiting for this exercise again!

.......I give up. I'm feeling totally disheartened and feel that I will have to up my job searching because I can't see this happening for some time. :(

Ask them in what areas the recruitment freeze is on, cos some areas will be more oversubbed than others

I have just been told that for my exercise (IRC61569) there is only one list - a merit list. That must mean that 117 people received a success letter and expected to have a job.

I don't think its fair or right to give 117 people hope when they may not even get the job after being told they had been successful.

I agree - its ridiculous. Thats a possible 117 folk who may have handed in their notice on the strength of a success letter..........I have no idea how many people are on the merit list for my IRC. I am 24th, so cant see my being in the next intake (if there ever is one)
