DWP employment waiting list

I received my success letter about a week ago (IRC - London).
It mentioned nothing about waiting lists and just told me I should wait to hear from them after my pre-recruitment checks to confirm whether they are able to offer me a post.
I've rang my local JCP for advice and they couldn't really offer me any.
Can someone give me the email address I should contact so I can find out more?0 -

Applied for IRC 61880 (Coventry and Warwickshire) AA post
5th August: Deadline
25th August: Lit/Num tests
7th September: Interview
4th October: Success Letter
27th October: Email from DWP to say all checks were cleared and I am 5th on the merit list.
Just gotta sit tight now and hope they make a decision to start a training course soon....
This has to be the slowest application process i've EVER known...0 -

WOW! I have just received a reply to my email of 16th Oct. Perhaps the system was down or something :rotfl:
Anyway, it says:-
"You are 24th on the merit list for this IRC but unfortunately I am unable to give a timescale as to when your start date will be. Business Services will be in contact with you when they have a position to offer".
I applied for this job in June. snarl, snarl, :mad:0 -
Is there anyone who had a call or posted yet from irc61505. I have been waiting for 2 months. Drives me nuts!0

Why do you say that any job offered is 99% likely to be in a Jobcentre?
It could be a benefit delivery centre or contact centre.
When you applied it would have said what you were applying for, i.e Jobcentre or BDC, however, just to mention it did also stipulate on the initial application that AO level could be either of the above, whatever meets the business needs.
Because BDCs and CCs are no longer recruiting (BDCs are only recruiting a few people for Extended working hours pilots in certain areas)"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

hi Darny, you applied for the same IRC as me. I was interviewed 9th September and received my success letter on 3rd october. I too thought i had applied for an AA job but on the reference that was sent out to a friend it said the position I had applied for was an Administrative Officer. I haven't received an e-mail though saying my checks have been cleared. I sent an e-mail to the woman who sent me the self assessment form, sending her a copy as I didn't want to rely on the post during the strikes but I have not received anything back, not even an acknowledment that they had received the information. Was there a name on your e-mail? It's great to hear from someone with the same IRC.0 -

Hey yeah, I sent an email last week to central resourcing basically asking what the state of play was regarding my application. I got the following reply this morning..
"I can confirm your checks have cleared. You are 5th on merit list. Unfortunately I am unable to give you a timescale when the business will be able to offer you a start date. the business will be in contact once they are in a position to do so."
I applied for a general Admin Assistant role in Coventry and Warwickshire, least that's what it said on the IRC 61880 job spec I saved..
give RESOURCING.CUSTOMERSERVICES@DWP.GSI.GOV.UK an email and see what they say.. Stay in-touch, we could be on the same course!! I'm Nuneaton based..0 -
Can someone please clarify the difference, if there is one, between being on the Merit List and the Waiting List?0
