DWP employment waiting list
Comments
-
I received my success letter about a week ago (IRC 62668 - London).
It mentioned nothing about waiting lists and just told me I should wait to hear from them after my pre-recruitment checks to confirm whether they are able to offer me a post.
I've rang my local JCP for advice and they couldn't really offer me any.
Can someone give me the email address I should contact so I can find out more?
Congratulations on your success letter but prepare yourself for a long wait. There have been several recruitment exercises for London--May 2009, July 2009 and September 2009. I think your irc was for September ? Well, I applied in May, got my success letter in June and am still waiting........ Good luck anyway!0 -
I started training already, not as fun as what venus_in_fur was doing. Only two days then it's a 9am start at the JCP office to sort out a few things before being sent to a distant location to learn their systems for two weeks. Not looking forward to it tbh but it's necessary I guess.
There was a recruitment drive back in April as well but anyway, good luck to you people waiting for your start date.0 -
ive never known so much whining and complaining in my life, i bet you people are the type to write in to watchdog and points of view complaining in a bag of walkers you only recieved 31.7 quavers or watched a tv show that said "!!!!" at 8:59pm before the watershed.
get a grip man for gods sake, the DWP is probably a very busy at the moment due to this global credit crunch, so stop acting like mugs.0 -
Hi, I emailed the address and it took about 3 days but got this
You are 19th on the merit list I can confirm that no one has been posted
from merit list IRC61302. JCP are reviewing staffing levels at the
minute so unfortunately I cant give you a timescale for a start date.
The business will be in touch once they have something to offer.
I really don't know if it's good or not, how does this compare with others.
I agree with the people who say they should be giving people an idea right from the beginning of how long this process takes, I am out of work and thought I had a job but now two months in a row I have struggled to make my mortgage payments as I was led to believe at interview I would be taken on mid september, it's now almost November!!!
This is putting peoples lively hoods at stake and it's wrong, there must be plenty of people out there that don't even have the reassurance and peace of mind that this site gives.
Guess I have no choice but to wait and keep looking for other jobs for now
Is this for AO or EO?? I was 21st on the merit list for EO position and I got a call a few weeks ago, but I had my interview in July. It seems to be quite frequent that it takes around 3 months for them to get in touch with people.
Don't lose hope!!! I took on a job and that same morning, I got the call!!
I would however, continue applying for other jobs just incase, but you seem to be in a good position on the list??
I was doing some Mystery Shopping work for GrassRoots and GFK just to give me a little extra money in the mean time!
I will keep my fingers crossed that you get the call soon.0 -

I take it you are not one of the many people who have waited months on DWP getting back to you???
You probably don't have a mortgage to pay or a car to run.
This forum is for discussing the DWP staffing situation. If you don't have anything which is beneficial to others, keep quiet.0 -

Ooooh a little unfair I think!!! What has happened is this recruitment drive has left many applicants completely unsure of where they stand, this is not the normal process when applying for a job. I think it is the lack of communication at the very beginning that has left people a little frustrated...this is a good place to get things off your chest with those that are in the same situation...if you don't like it then don't read it...
I am sure you can find plenty of other forums more to your liking...0 -

No - we are the kind of people who really want the jobs that we have been interviewed and passed all the checks for. All we want is a start date so that we can get to work and give our families a better standard of living.0 -
Hi All,
Did anyone save the original job description from the website for this IRC? I can't find my copyI am trying to remember what the areas covered were and also if it was a perm or contract.
Thanks
Sheila
Hi Shelia
I am pretty sure it was 18 months contract with a view to permanency, and I believe it was the Bolton area, maybe whiskyman can shed more light0 -

My original IRC application is for a BDC position, I wonder if they intend to post successful candidates from this IRC into Jobcentres.
It's all guessing isn't it.
This is the worst candidate experience I have ever received.
I'm sure people think I'm making this up when they ask of I got the job and I have to say, well, I was told I was successful but JCP are currently reviewing staffing positions.
I know because its my job to know, I work in Jobcentre Plus, if the IRC was for a BDC then yes it may will be that the vacancy will be transferred to a Jobcentre, if it wasn't going to be I would have expected Shared Services to write to you."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

You're right, there has been no permanent recruitment at AA, AO and EO level unless the vacancy was advertised and had a closing date of before April."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
