Congratulations on your success letter but prepare yourself for a long wait. There have been several recruitment exercises for London--May 2009, July 2009 and September 2009. I think your irc was for September ? Well, I applied in May, got my success letter in June and am still waiting........ Good luck anyway!
Which area of London?0 -

get a grip man for gods sake, the DWP is probably a very busy at the moment due to this global credit crunch, so stop acting like mugs.
I would like to say F&*@ off you mug!
Go read a newspaper and not make comments about the global credit crunch and the probability that the DWP is busy due to it.
I am sure you are not one of those persons waiting for a job like we are who have being interviewed, passed all our pre recruitment checks, and told to wait to be posted. Your comments also smack of someone who has a job or who is on the dole and quite happy to be there.
It !!!!es me off when someone like you instead of offering encouragement you offer criticism. If you have nothing good to say.. say nothing.0 -
I've been offered an EO position at my local JCP, due to start Monday 9 November. I've got a few questions however, and would be grateful if someone on the forum could answer them for me.
I haven't been told much about the training, does anyone know how many weeks training usually lasts? Also, what hours is the training likely to be based on? I currently have another job in the evening, and would need to arrange time off to cover the training period.
What is the dress code at JCP? Is it smart, or smart-casual?
I hope someone can shed some light on these things for me, and I'm sorry if it's been covered before - I jus don't know if I can trawl through this entire thread!
Thanks0 -

Hmm your posts have worried me a bit. My IRC that I'm waiting for the call on was specifically for a Contact Centre in Lowestoft, so it wasn't even a regional recruitment type exercise. If they're no longer recruiting then it doesn't sound like the chances of being put forward for a Jobcentre position are very high as it was specifically for this location rather than a region. I did recieve notification by email that the top 42 of the merit list for this IRC had been sent for baseline checks in preperation for posting though, and this was only last week. I don't know what to think.0 -

i would agree, have found this thread useful and encouraging. so many people on merit and waiting list. this thread should be for encouragement and support only. well put viaggiopics, but i think you need to brush up on your spelling. couple of word which dont seem right . joke0 -

What position do you hold within Jobcentre plus?
If you can be confident enough to advise that BDC positions are to transfer to Jobcentres then what can you tell us about this current waiting position and the sheer lack of communication from the Department for Work and Pensions?0 -
:cheesy:Yikes, interview time!
Got a non-DWP interview this Friday that I need to prepare a 10 minute presentation for. Second interview, I'm one of four still in contention. Really want this job...
Also have a HEO interview on Monday. 5 minute presentation on top of the competency interview.
Looking forward to the first one, it's a perfect job for me.
Good Luck, I am sure you will do well. Fingers crossed.

Hi,
Can't answer your questions, I am new to this forum, but wanted to say 'Well Done and Good Luck' :T- it gives the rest of hope, especially those that have been waiting MONTHS. I can only guess how frustrating it must be, especially after you have been through every hoop asked of you. Hopefully someone will be a long to answer your questions.
Let us know how you get on.
