I GOT THE CALL!!! Someone pinch me!!!
Can't believe it managed to get an ideal location as well! Start 23rd November. They've changed the goal posts though it's now only a 12 month contract.
Thanks to everyone who's provided info and moral support, good luck to everyone!
Anyone else on this IRC hold tight.
It's been a long 4 months!
Well done! Thrilled for you! :j0 -
Applied for IRC 61880 (Coventry and Warwickshire) AO post
5th August: Deadline
25th August: Lit/Num tests
7th September: Interview
4th October: Success Letter
27th October: Email from DWP to say all checks were cleared and I am 5th on the merit list.
28th October: Just had it confirmed that nobody has been posted from my application group (IRC 61880) as yet...
So looks like I gotta sit tight and hope. Should be in the first batch, whenever that will be!!0 -
Hey Mandie (and anyone else starting on Monday!!) Are you all set for your new role??!
Any idea what we're expected to wear? I've got a ton of office clothes from my last job - shift dresses, shirts, trousers etc don't want to go in looking like a total !!!! though!!
Also, I've to go to the Leven branch on Monday morning to meet some woman there. They've said to bring my P45 but to be honest, I dont think my current employer is organised to have that done by then! lol
Best of luck for all those starting soon in their new positions!!0 -
About 58 out of 300 about a month ago if any of that is to be believed. I think my emails may have made a difference not sure probably just pot luck, glad my location is ideal was preparing for the long commute.
Well with the letter over the weekend and now we know someone has been posted signs are good for the rest of us. Hopefully will hear tomorrow or Friday.0 -
.....waiting is so terrible. I've got to go to JC + again on Friday to sign on. It would be soooo nice to be able to go there and tell them that I have finally received the call to start.0

Yes, the wait is awful. So is the constant trawling for jobs (to meet the Jobseekers Allowance entitlement rules) when you know that the only job you want is the one you have a "success" letter for. Not to mention friends constantly asking "hows the new job?" and the embarrassment you feel when you have to try to explain - "er, well actually I haven't started yet.........." I could go on......and on........0 -
Hold tight ........................it DOES HAPPEN - I GOT THE CALL! Just got to suss out my notice period then notify them of start date, more than likely going to be beginning of December, and in my preferred choice of location - on an 18 month contract. Timeline:
Applied for IRC 61715 - Thames Area E.O.
12th August: Literacy Test (had previously passed numeracy)
Interview: 21st August
Success Letter - 10th September
CRB Cleared - 22nd September
22nd September - Now: SILENCE
I was no. 52 on the Merit list
Think a takeaway and drink is calling me!!! Good luck all those that are waiting - it does come......................0 -

I can totally relate to that. I am sick of my friends asking when I will be starting my new job and I am unable to answer. Worst my partner thought I was lying until I presented the letter.
Oh well, the search, wait and hoping continues.0
