i would agree, have found this thread useful and encouraging. so many people on merit and waiting list. this thread should be for encouragement and support only. well put viaggiopics, but i think you need to brush up on your spelling. couple of word which dont seem right . joke

    WELL SAID viaggiopics and linkster.

To mister raikonnen - I think your attitude is appalling. This is a friendly forum where we support each other and swap news - good and bad. Please keep your ill-informed opinions to yourself in future - we dont want to hear them on here.
  • Hey, do you mean that you have had your crb check done before you got your success letter? I don't understand?

I have recently been successful for an AO post and am waiting for my crb check to be done so i can get given a start date.

You sound like you have done well anyway!! :)

Hey, sorry for my late reply, I had no idea you had asked me something.

I received my successful letter the same day I received my CRB check, I'm not sure when it was done, but I know I received them on the same day.

I got a call last week too advising I have a start date, as either the 2nd or 16th of November, I opted for 16th as I need to hand in 4 weeks notice.

Good luck mate, I hope you have heard something by now..

I've been offered an EO position at my local JCP, due to start Monday 9 November. I've got a few questions however, and would be grateful if someone on the forum could answer them for me.

I haven't been told much about the training, does anyone know how many weeks training usually lasts? Also, what hours is the training likely to be based on? I currently have another job in the evening, and would need to arrange time off to cover the training period.

What is the dress code at JCP? Is it smart, or smart-casual?

I hope someone can shed some light on these things for me, and I'm sorry if it's been covered before - I jus don't know if I can trawl through this entire thread!

    Thanks

Hey, my position was an AO, so not sure if this will apply, I was told training will last up to 4 weeks, and the dress code is smart, I asked if a tie was appropriate and was told that you should ask your manager at the JC.
  • ive never known so much whining and complaining in my life, i bet you people are the type to write in to watchdog and points of view complaining in a bag of walkers you only recieved 31.7 quavers or watched a tv show that said "!!!!" at 8:59pm before the watershed.

get a grip man for gods sake, the DWP is probably a very busy at the moment due to this global credit crunch, so stop acting like mugs.

LOL....i bet you thought u were very clever writing that. question for you tho....if you dont like the "whining and moanind"...why are u posting on here? No-one forced you thru the door :) I think fair play to people who have waited months to have a moan without people like you getting nasty about it. Why dont you go back where u came from and do us all a favour

Congrats off the bat for getting this far. As to a timeline, a read through the last 100 pages will give you an indication of what to expect which can mean upwards of 8 months. As you are No. 5 on merit list, it is likely that you will get a posting sooner than someone who is No.10 +

Hopefully things will start to progress quickly.
  • Darnay....thats great news! As for a timescale, its hard to tell. I got the call when i was 32nd on the list. I guess it depends on area etc. Good luck xx

I GOT THE CALL!!! Someone pinch me!!!

Can't believe it managed to get an ideal location as well! Start 23rd November. They've changed the goal posts though it's now only a 12 month contract.

Thanks to everyone who's provided info and moral support, good luck to everyone!

Anyone else on this IRC hold tight.

    It's been a long 4 months!
