  • Filbertchick, which area are you in?

I've just had a reply to my email:

At the minute there is still a recruitment freeze on for JCP vacancies. I can confirm that no one has been posted from vacancy IRC61492. The business will contact you once they have a position to offer you unfortunately I don't have a time scale for this.

What a cop out! Quelle surprise!

Hi all, i`v been keeping an eye on this site for sometime and thought i might add what i found out today.
I applied for IRC61569 way back in July, passed all the tests, assessments etc and have been waiting ever since. Finally spoke to Business Services today to be told everyone who applied should get a call this week with a start date. I asked about merit lists only to be told this number is worked out from the tests everyone took and has no meaning to when you will be offered a post! Everyone who passes the tests etc WILL be offered a post `sometime`! If there are no vacancies at your first choice then they work down the list of choices you made until they find you a job. No mention of a job freeze!

Fingers crossed to all those waiting to hear!!!!

Thanks sooo much for that!! I'm waiting for the same IRC too. Where are you hoping to be posted?

Thanks for that! I am crossing everything..:D
  • HELP, I have to do an online test for a HEO position, which is not a prob as I have done one before and passed it.

I will then have to do another screening test which will be verbal critical reasoning which is fine as well. My problem is the numerical critical reasoning test.. I suck at math in a timed situate. Has anyone done one of these and what should I expect to be asked (I assume they are paper based).
  • Just found that the DWP are advertising for Admin Officers for Derby. I applied for the Admin Assistant role(s) for Derby and got my success letter on 26th August. Do you think this could mean I might get the call soon?

I feel like complaining about how we've been treated. Althought I'm not sure what good it would do!! If it was just stated in our success letters that we could be in for a long wait then it would solve a whole lot of confusion.

Anyone waiting on Derby/East Midlands roles? I've seen lots of people on here for other areas apart from mine. :(

I to have applied for the Derby area, for an AO role in the contact centre, I'm on a waiting list for IRC62397. I'm behind you in terms of timescales, the closing date for this one was 2nd September and my success letter was dated 9th October.

I have noticed they are currently advertising for EO's in the Thames Valley area, I got my success letter for a EO position(IRC61715-Thames Valley area ) on the 6th September plus a week later Disclosure Scotland Certificate but not a whisper since !

I'm in Derby, waiting on IRC61979 Admin Asisstant.

That is a total cop-out! It's absolutely ridiculous!

    When did you email?

    Same here.

I had a choice of 2 in Derby, but I put I didn't mind which. How about you?

If there was a "freeze" we should have been informed of that in our success letters, actually we should have just been told we'd be waiting around for months and expect to think that is perfectly acceptable. They shouldn't send out these letters of "congratulations" when they actually mean diddlysquat!

Depending on how my interview with the JC adviser goes this afternoon I'm seriously thinking of looking elsewhere. I dread to think how many job opportunities I've missed whilst waiting around.

If I get any good info from the adviser I will let people on here know. :)
