Thanks for the info. I might just do that. I sent an email to them yesterday and I'm still waiting on a reply from that. If I've not heard anything by tomorrow then I'm going to get complaining :rotfl: Who did you complain to?"you can grow flowers from where dirt used to be..."0 -
Hi, that's exactly like I feel, like they've lost me somehow haha. I've not heard a thing since I got my CRB back, both my refs and my place of work have been contacted and replied and I know when I rang up about the CRB the guy said my checks were complete and I'd been passed to the business centre. That was about 8 weeks ago. The guy also said there were 300 people on the list.
I didn't fill any form in and wasn't asked about location preference, I don't think anyone has for this IRC.
I think a few people who have been in contact have been told it's being reviewed and we will know more at the end of Oct. Which can't be far off.
What worries me is if it's an area that's being reviewed and there are 300 people on this merit list I just can't see them deciding they still need 300 people.
I feel exactly the same as well!!"you can grow flowers from where dirt used to be..."0 -
I feel daft now when everyones asking me when i start my new job lol!! i know that is an awful lot of people to employ in one area so hopefully they still need us all. I have a friend who is a supervisor in barnsley bdc and she was expecting 10 new staff on her section alone in September and obviously no one has been set on yet!! i alos really want to know where im goin to be based, it should bt a prob as i drive but wouldnt it be ncie to know??
please let us start and earn some money in time for xmass shopping!!!0 -
I am so confused about these waiting lists and merit lists!!!
I had a letter to say I had been successful but was on a 6 month waiting list (again sometimes it is 12 months) I was called by the recruitment centre to ask me my preferred JCP's, they advised that the waiting list was there as they didn't know how many staff they actually needed and were still reviewing it. she would not disclose my position on the list.
I decided to email the address that some kind person put on here and have been told that I am joint 3rd on the list, and although I asked about a merit list there was again no mention of this....So I am really confused.....
Is anyone else in this position....Jx0 -

Yeah, I suppose a positive is that Sheffield is massive, then Rotherham, Doncaster, Barnsley all quite big places so maybe they'll need us! But why they taking ages if they need us now!
Yeah I drive too but would love my local one but at the moment I think I'd take one in Mongolia :rotfl:0 -
i know is she was told to be expecting staff in september why suddenly take so long. they were so understaffed in bdc she was doing overtime on weekends and evenings, it was available all the time so we surely are needed.
your right there are plenty of jobcentres in south yorkshire so look on positive, fingers crossed we hear something next week now at the latest. we will be nervous wrecks watching the phones now theyve tole us late october lol0 -

Hey......sorry if I was a scaremonger it's just the people from my recruitment/training have had letters that say your contract will end 30th December 2010. I haven't had an official date so I have no idea when mine will end - closing date for applications was June - interviewed July and start date 19th Oct.
I will only post info when I have something concrete as I would hate to give out information that was only a rumour.
Am I forgiven???0 -
How was the interview? i got mines on Monday for AO0
