DWP employment waiting list

afterrnoon everyone. just wondering if people who have just started or are abut to start have had anything about hours. i have had a lovely letter from my area manager to welcome me and to apologise for the long wait. however in the letter it says my hours will be arranged on my first day of employment and i will always be given 4 weeks notice of my hours. i am bit worried now that i will not be working full time. just presumed it would be full time hours.0

Maisette
Were you successful in a Contact Centre? THey have to work specific hours (down to the minute) so that could be why, the default hours would be fulltime so unless you've requested PT I wouldn't worry about that.
Its been a long time since i worked in a Jobcentre and they now open 9-5 five days a week (at least) so maybe they have to decide on who to starts early and who stays late."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
Maisette were you not told when u got "the call". I was told my hours there and then. 9-5 mon-fri and that they only had full time positions at the minute. Not sure if thats everywhere or just my area tho0

As for the Primark suggestion Thylacine, last time I got something from there or Peacocks, the clothes didn't last long. They get all bubbly so you end up paying more to replace them and I don't know if they sell quality ones. I'll pop in one of the stores and check anyways, thanks.
They sell some crap, but if you examine the clothes carefully you can usually tell what's going to look bad in a few washes and what wont. Look for thicker grade fabric that feels substantial in between your fingers and give some of the seams a gentle tug to see how strong and tight the stitching is. Failing that, better quality black pants are all over the place, keep an eye out for reduced stuff. As NaiJay mentioned, second hand stores are a great idea as well.
I'm also going to have to do clothes shopping this week0 -

hereford is mine tooo.... which set of interviews were you in?? ( we may have been together!)
It was a Thursday afternoon, can't remember the date off the top of my head. At least filling in the CRB forms before the interview and having them checked over saves a bit of time! You'll have to keep us updated if you have any news.0 -

The job centre is currently trailing longer opening hours 8-8 mon/fri and sat opening, and the four weeks notice allows them to change your hours if the need arises. You will be full time unless you asked for something different.0 -
