I suffer really bad anxiety attacks and have been known to faint. But even i was fine once i got there and started. Everyone is really nice. I should imagine its the same where you are! You gotta be brave M....if i can do it than ANYONE can! I used to be so nervous i hated leaving the house, so for me this was quite a big step, especially after being unemployed so long and sitting round the house by myself! You will love it i promise! I am still nervous about actually going to my JC+, i have gotten comfortable at the training and the thought of going to my actual job centre is terrifying! I really hope i fit in okay and my nerves don't get the better of me!
You will be great...you are lovely person and everyone will love you- so don't be scared. :A"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -

thanks venus. i suppose being at home for last few months has knocked my confidence a bit. trouble is because im from liverpool the first thing people ask is why im living down here. i never really know what to say. cant really say oh well im here to escape from aviolent ex husband. sort of stops conversation dead in its tracks.
If asked that question, just say you wanted a new start and as you get to know people better and make friends then perhaps you'll feel comfortable telling them the main reason. If not then your not lying are you, you did want a new start (and good for you too!!!)0 -

Liverpool is greatI live right next to there (Wirral) and lived in Liverpool for a few years. You should be proud and say 'I am down here to cheer you miserable Southerners up!'
Just joking everyone...i love down south really! Seriously, it is none of their business why you have moved there. Just say because you like it there. End of.
I understand the nerves, i was exactly the same. But if you don't go for it you will be even more miserable so just try and remember this and relax. I just concentrated on how amazing it was i actually got a job when i started to get nervous (funny tummy, head swimming). Silly i know, but the proud feeling i got kinda halted the nerves i had a bit. Just think of all you've achieved...getting away from your ex and starting afresh...new job. There is a lot of good to focus on"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
I'm 21 yrs old so no hope of Working Tax credits, I'll ask my advisor next week when I sign on for the final time (yay!) but I'm not so sure they'll be so open. I'm at Working Links atm as a "leaver" so I don't go to my JCP office and go to their office instead.0

Oh dear I just contacted the CRB office in Scotland and they say they do not have my application on their system....that isn't good is it, especially as the DWP lady in Nottingham told me that they were waiting for it to come back and to watch out in case they sent it to me directly...
What a nightmare already...0 -
hi, anyone any news on irc 61492?0

Well you don't need formal attire, so don't worry too much. Smart-casual will be fine (minus denim, logo shirts), so you should be able to sort yourself out very cheaply just by visiting Primark or similar.
Yeah anytime ive been into my local office everyone seems to be dressed pretty casually, obviously still smart but not over the top suits, shirts, ties etc etc lol. I plan on just buying a couple pairs of dress trousers and dressing them down with a smart/casual top, maybe a nice scarf and jazz it up with cool shoes lol. Ahh who knows, im fussy about what i wear at the best of times lol0
