Good thing is, althought its £175 a week (shock horror lol) i only pay 20% of that so im well happy. Also went to see my lone parent advisor at the office i'll be working in and when i came in, one of the managers came out and introduced herself and said they were looking forward to me starting, she was very nice so i feel at ease now. Also got all the financial stuff sorted out. So its all good here today

I've not done that for years and it's a scary thought. A nice one too though!
Anyone else starting at Dundee?
LOL i was thinkign about that too, after work drinks, xmas nights out haha, oh yes, i WILL have a social life for a change0 -
Went to sign on at the job centre today and told her about my interview for a job on monday. She said that as I don't know when/if I will be getting the call, its only fair to tell the employer that I am waiting to hear about starting another job saving messing them about. She said that when she was in this situation waiting for the 'call', she didn't bother applying for other jobs because as long as your still looking you can claim benefits.....I just don't know what to think or do anymore lol - they tell me completely different things.0

Anyone in West Yorkshire got the`call` recently?
I was told I had been passed to business the week before the freeze, no call.
I emailed them when I heared about the freeze, told the freeze was on and not to expect anything before end of Oct.0 -

I had phoned on Monday past to see if there was any updates on the freeze, and the guy I spoke to (very nice by the way and helpful) advised me things were in progress and he was hoping for an update in the next day or so and recommended I call back on Friday (today), then said, actually do you want to call back Thursday (yesterday) and hopefully we shall have some news for you.
I'm currently choked with the cold and off from my current work (don't want to infect everyone else and there is already shortage of lemsip and it's derivatives here). Anyway I digress, I swithered whether to phone yesterday and did so really quite late in the afternooon and spoke to a lady. Again very helpful and she took my details and IRC number and said she would call me back.
She duly did 10 mins or so later asking me if I currently work which I do and how much notice I needed to give (one week), and would Monday the 19th October suit? Erm yes.........:D:rolleyes:
She said she would contact my local office and confim the start date with them, and call me back today to confim everything and get the rest in the post to me and via email.
I was told my post will be "up to 18 months" on the phone, but hoping it ends up permanent, and that I could be working between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 9am - 1pm but currently my JC+ are only open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday which is perfect and I'm so looking forward to cooking again for my teenage kids and visa versa.
I'm now going to have to go and get office type clothes, as I currently work in a call centre where nearly anything goes.
For those still waiting, don't give up, my time line is as follows:-
Applied online last week of June
Numeracy and literacy tests 2nd week of July (IIRC)
Interview same day as tests above
Success letter 3 days after interview, but with 12 month waiting list
Disclosure Scotland received 1st week of August, but forwarded onto DWP and received back a week later with compliments slip
Call re the freeze two weeks ago, maybe three.
Call confirming job offer today Friday 9th October :T
Total time from application to start date just under four months.
FAO heathertheblether I recommend calling the Dunfermline number if your reading this a couple of pages back or PM me and I'll give you it, that way fingers crossed you should know what's going on. Who knows we might even be in the same office.
OH THATS BRILLIANT! SO THRILLED FOR YOU! Just managed to wrestle the computer off the kids (wretched school hols) lol! I will phone the number you gave for Dunfermline tomorrow! Lots of good news over the last 2 weeks. Gives us all hope! Congratulations! :T0 -
