LOL thanks u guys for thinking of me lol. Ive been out since half past 8 til half 12 with Sonny to creche so i tried to phone when i got in and i think she must have been on a lunch break cos i finally got her only ten mins ago!! Anyway it was just to say that the business had contacted her back to say that altho they are very sorry for the huge wait ive had, its all down to this pause in recruitment, however they will be phoning ppl up around the last week in October and my name is on there next training list, so i'll definately hear as soon as the pause is lifted. So yeah altho i didnt get a start date im relieved to know that as soon as the pause is lifted i'm on the first training group and will be called soon. I knew it wouldnt be with a start date yet cos im just not that lucky lol, but at least this way i can get on with arranging childcare etc xx

Thats good then. Although you didn't get a start date it does sound as though you will be contacted very soon. Not long now!

I went to an interview beginning of the year/ and been to one where the contract is being operated by Manpower which is better and more relax in a way/ but a bit disorganised i must admit/ the morning session ran till midday and so on so forth/ but nice ppl/anyway the way they conduct the test /scoring/and interview is on the same day which is good for AO and for EO the test and results on the same day and u r given the date for the interview..mine is this Saturday coming...any interview technique is welcome.
    cheers!!

Ive been interviewed for both AO and EO. I was successful for AO. I would say to go in as relaxed as possible cos everyone i was interviewed by were so down to earth and friendly, and for my EO interview i was so tense and stressed that i couldnt get thru what i wanted to say. I learnt from experience and got on really well with the AO interview. To be honest at both interviews the questions were roughly the same. I just tried to remember that they wanted details of things I had done, not what WE had done (if u know what i mean lol). And i used personal life experiences as well as work ones which i was told at the end they were really impressed with. I was asked things like "tell us of a time when you have made a change to something and how u went about it", "tell us of a time when you have had to meet targets and what u did to help to achieve this", "have u ever been in a situation where u have been unhappy with the outcoem of something and what did you do to change this"....that sort of thing. Its all stuff we do everyday in life if u think about it. Good luck, i hope it all goes wel for you xx

Heres my time thingy so far lol

    Applied - April
    Tests - May
Interview - one week later - May
    Success letter - 10th June
CRB - last week of July (sent to dwp and had back with compliment slip a week later)

All of my checks were already completed before i got the disclosure back so its pretty much been a waiting game since the end of July for me.

News for anyone waiting on 60369 and 60370. It's both positive and negative:

Positive: the freeze is lifted and calls are being made this week!

Negative: Brighton office is currently overstaffed (!!!!!!, they were screaming out for staff when I applied!), which sucks as Brighton is on a higher pay scale. Staff member at Brighton told me it's unlikely anyone will be placed at the Brighton office for a couple of months yet at least, as they need to downsize a bit first. Further, my source tells me that at the Worthing end of the region only Worthing and Bognor are taking on staff immediately.

For me, Worthing = £1300/yr train expenses. Bognor is £1800. That's assuming I'd get a 12 month ticket, which I won't because even if I get a job with DWP I'll be continuing to look for the right job within the industry I work in normally. It's a no-brainer: DWP vs computer/console games development/publishing? Latter wins!

Not got the call yet myself, and I have no idea where I am on the merit list so have no idea how long I might have to wait.

I think that's a very valid point to make. I hardly noticed any difference in the questions between the interviews; it's almost as though they are looking at AO level for people who would be competent at the higher level.

Yeah i think ur right. Im just glad i had the experience of the EO interview first cos i used that to structure how i would answer questions at the AO interview. Im glad i did cos if i had used less detail etc i may not have been successful. Also, ive heard a few ppl say they applied for AO but when they got there success letter they had been successful at EO level so would be posted as that.
