Right im still 21 on the waiting list. Good thing is he confirmed there is only one list - some people call it the merit list, others call it the waiting list. He confirmed a freeze on this role so hopefully once its lifted I might get a look in. So the wait continues.

21! well done haypluz,.....the lady i spoke to told me that you dont go on a waiting list unless it said so on your success letter.....I have passed all my pre recruitment checks but i am 97 on the merit list out of 130 odd. So i dont think its looking too good for me....lol

Maybe different areas do it differently. I did have a letter saying 6mth waiting list see. So I thought uh-oh!! Then I called in August and I'd gone from 68 to 21 so I thought well there cant be another list before this list as I wouldnt have moved yet lol! So he just confrmed just one list for 60895. Maybe when it all starts moving again it will move as quickly as it did in August! Good luck to us all...I think one think we have learnt is second guess nothing.

Im having a rubbish day, I'm ill, I have just been informed I didnt get the job I went for that I REALLY wanted and now I am due back in work Monday after maternity leave and sick leave and I soooo dont want to go back. Just hope its not for long.

hey everyone, I received the call yesterday, well, not really..well maybe I'm not sure.
I have been waiting for IRC 61298, this is for across London. I got a call yesterday afternoon, the lady was from the District office for North and North East London, I was asked if I was still looking for employment ( I lol'd). I was offered two locations, I said I was interested in Locations in my district (Central London and City). The lady said she would call the City district and get back to me today.

Was this the right thing to do, should I have taken the offered location..I'm not sure. Anyway, if she rings me today I guess I will take the previous location offered to me if nothing is available in the City.

On a side note I really don't know why my file was passed onto the North and North East London district office and not my local one (at the interview we weren't offered a list of locations)

IRC61298:- I received letter stating that I am successful in the assesment and that they will conduct pre-employment checks. My CRB check (Disclosure Scotland) is done. It is clear & spotless. My personal refrees informed me that last week they received reference check form which they sent back dully filled to the DWP.
I was told last week that I am in waiting list. My waiting list number is 150.
Does anyone know what will happen next...anyone who knows when can i expect myself to start..!!!?

Good luck on Monday! Don't worry just try and think positive. I'm sure once the freeze has been lifted we will all hear!;)
  • My job for today: listen to the phone ring out lots calling DWP for an update.

Had a good (I hope!) interview yesterday for a position I really, really want. Pay about the same as what I'd take home from a local EO, but within the industry I want to work for. Really strong future prospects from this one if I get it. Probably won't hear for another 2 weeks, but already got the nervous wait happening...

On a side note, has anyone received any updates on the 'freeze'?
  • Hey yaaaaaaaaaaaaa'll! Just finished my first day. Twas okay! Lots of listening and a tiny bit of note making. Just went through stuff about the company, dress code and sickness and holiday entitlement etc. The man training us is really nice, reminds me of a character from 'The Office'! There was 8 in my group today, everyone is really really lovely. There was supposed to be 10 but one lad didn't bother turning up (what a waste of a training space!?) and the other person is coming in tomorrow as he has been on holiday. So all in all a million billion times less scary than i thought. Tomorrow is more listening about safety stuff etc. I think next week we are learning the computer systems, after our profiles have been added to the system. Hope that helps settle a few nerves for when any of you get your start dates. If you have any questions just ask. x

Hey well done on getting through your first day Venus. See I told you you could do it!

Can't believe someone couldn't be bothered to turn up or at least let them know they weren't coming - how can someone be so selfish!!!!! I really do hope they manage to get someone from the waiting list to fill his place.

Keep up the good work Venus ;)

Yeah like in the song....things can only get better!

To top it off, my manager is now ignoring my calls. I dont think there is enough work to accomodate me but instead of having a back bone and explaining HR will have to sort it he is just ignoring me.

Sorry to go on. Im in full moan mode!!
