Does any one know if the recruitment freeze is still in place?
  • !!!!!!, this is ridiculous. Why give out phone numbers if you won't answer the phone?

Thought I was making progress when it was engaged for a minute. "Right, you're at your desk!" I thought to myself. Nope, back to ringing out unanswered again now...

Got another number to try later, but I really want to get through to Newcastle first and just confirm all my checks are complete and they haven't, for example, forgotten to note that they've seen my CRB.

Everyone has their bad days. Can't blame you for feeling down when your employer is treating you like this. So will you not know what is going on until you actually get back to work on Monday? It's crap that they are not keeping you informed.

Yeah definately one of those days. Well I was going to go in Monday as my sick note ends Thursday and it seemed logical to start fresh Monday. But I have just called ACAS and they were very helpful. He said they have no rights to mess me around. They CAN make me redundant or offer me something very similar to my role but they have to go through all the correct channels. So he said best I turn up Friday morning with a big grin on my face saying "right then where do we start!" and its up to them then.

    Hi all

I've had an interview for an AO post and its been over a week now but no reply? Do you know how long it takes till they write to you and respond? also how and when we receive the test scores?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
I went to an interview beginning of the year/ and been to one where the contract is being operated by Manpower which is better and more relax in a way/ but a bit disorganised i must admit/ the morning session ran till midday and so on so forth/ but nice ppl/anyway the way they conduct the test /scoring/and interview is on the same day which is good for AO and for EO the test and results on the same day and u r given the date for the interview..mine is this Saturday coming...any interview technique is welcome.
    cheers!!

Hey yaaaaaaaaaaaaa'll! Just finished my first day. Twas okay! Lots of listening and a tiny bit of note making. Just went through stuff about the company, dress code and sickness and holiday entitlement etc. The man training us is really nice, reminds me of a character from 'The Office'! There was 8 in my group today, everyone is really really lovely. There was supposed to be 10 but one lad didn't bother turning up (what a waste of a training space!?) and the other person is coming in tomorrow as he has been on holiday. So all in all a million billion times less scary than i thought. Tomorrow is more listening about safety stuff etc. I think next week we are learning the computer systems, after our profiles have been added to the system. Hope that helps settle a few nerves for when any of you get your start dates. If you have any questions just ask. x
Hey Venus, sounds like you enjoyed your first day - thanks for giving us all an insight to the 1st day. I'm starting as an EO and I was told I would get 3 weeks worth of training, but then again my training is done where I'll be working so maybe most of it is shadowing.

I'm gonna go explore the JC before my start date like you did - need to know if there is free parking!!!!!

Shame someone dropped out - they probably just did it to spite the DWP for the length of time they'd waited. ike us - we applied June and I didnt get my call until last week - so thats 4 months!!!!!

Glad you're enjoying it - and insight into the holidays/pension and other benefits would greatly be appreciated. How did you find out about the payrise??? Do you think it will be the same for the EO's???

Don't show all your craziness in one go, save some to surprise them - I know they'll love you anyway!!!!:D

LOL thanks u guys for thinking of me lol. Ive been out since half past 8 til half 12 with Sonny to creche so i tried to phone when i got in and i think she must have been on a lunch break cos i finally got her only ten mins ago!! Anyway it was just to say that the business had contacted her back to say that altho they are very sorry for the huge wait ive had, its all down to this pause in recruitment, however they will be phoning ppl up around the last week in October and my name is on there next training list, so i'll definately hear as soon as the pause is lifted. So yeah altho i didnt get a start date im relieved to know that as soon as the pause is lifted i'm on the first training group and will be called soon. I knew it wouldnt be with a start date yet cos im just not that lucky lol, but at least this way i can get on with arranging childcare etc xx
