DWP employment waiting list

Anyway, I got the call today...Or rather I received three missed calls as I was still asleep
and gave THEM the call...Which is kinda ironic, given the situation in this thread...I got my first choice of office, not sure if it will be customer services or admin, as I said I could do both. It's EO. Originally they were phoning about the AO (I applied for both, the AO first by a week or so, so I guess that was being dealt with earlier) but when I said I had also applied for EO they said 'oh, ok EO then' lol
Congratulations! :T0 -
I can assure you that Slitty is very definitely not a man
From what I know, the only offices in our area that are taking on staff are Worthing and Bognor.
Worthing pay rate is the same as the national rate: min is £20,240 I think. Brighton is a few grand more than that, but they aren't hiring at all.
Opps...No offence meant to Slitty. Worthing is not too far so I would be more than happy to go. If the merit list is to be believed as I was told three weeks ago I was 25, today I am 33... ah well...

This afternoon I got THE CALL!!!!!!!
I was at the top of the merit list(IRC 60369) but I have not gotten my first pick of location... it's not the higher base pay office I wanted(brighton is supposedly overstaffed) and I'm going to have to pay for travel, but hey it's a job. Very happy after being told I would have to wait until the end of october at the very earliest.
Good luck everyone - it does seem as though some areas have overstaffed, but they seem to be trying to place us all somewhere, even if it's not our first choice.
Congrats slitty. Have a drink on me:T I am waiting on 60375 - surrey/southeast0 -

Everyone sounds a bit depressed today
The waiting is hard. But i tried not to ring them up too much as i knew it would just stress me out, plus everyone is hearing contrasting information which is just confusing. Maybe if some of you try and push it to the back of your minds (i know its hard) you will find 'the call' comes around faster? Remember, every day that goes...is a day closer
I am worried i wont be able to afford to get there for much longer. There has been no mention of reimbursing travel and they haven't took our bank details yet. I can even afford a new umbrella so got SOAKED today....and i mean wet through, like i actually swam across the Mersey instead of getting the bus! lol.
Sweetikklemunchkin- good luck! Hope you do well!!! I have my fingers crossed for ya chick.
Oh yeah, training. We did more sitting and listening today. Just on Safety and security. Like....don't leave scissors on your desk. Don't leave documents unattended. How to watch out for people trying to cheat data from you over the phone by pretending to work in the department etc. How to deal with potentially violent customers. All the scary stuff! Eeeek!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
Ohhhh i havent read the last page....everyone is a bit more cheerful now!!!!
Congrats Toby and Slitty!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully more peps will be hearing soon too!!! Wahhhoooooooo!"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
Im really please for all of you that have had "the call" lol. Its great to read some positive news, even if it is for others. Just wondered if anyone has ever been on the merit list down near 100, and actually got a job? The only thought that has kinda kept me going is that there were people at my test etc for ilford and romford and i applied for southend, so may be 97 isnt as bad as it sounds....lol....Its so frustrating being told you have passed all the stages....but!....lol:o0
