Thanks. I phoned to chase it up last week and someone called Florence called me on fri and left an answer message sayin she had had a responce back from the business so ive to call her tomorrow about it. Hopefully good news! Im 32 on merit list. what areas did u put down to work in and what position did u apply for? I put down leven and kirkcaldy and i went for AO.

I'm down for St Andrews, Leven, Cupar and I've also said Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy. I'm down for EO position. Got through for AO position too, but haven't heard nothing about that one - got both disclosures through, but all phonecalls have been for EO position.

Never know, might be working along side of you soon - if what this chap's saying is correct!

Thing is, I've got an interview tomorrow for a job - I'm guessing I should still attend it just incase. But I hate the thought of mucking an employer around.
  • I just want to confirm the above as I also spoke to him earlier today. He was just waiting for a couple of bits of information to come through and it should be with him by the end of the week and thus will be in a better position to let us know.

Fingers crossed for a start date this side of Christmas if not hoping for a Happy New Year.

Do you know if they've contacted your employers yet???

To be honest I have absolutely no idea if they have contacted my work. All I know is my checks have all come back clear and like so many others I'm waiting on the "CALL".

I'm waiting on different areas though to you and mandie but the same as heathertheblether (different irc to her though and position).

PS good luck for the interview tomorrow!

Hey yaaaaaaaaaaaaa'll! Just finished my first day. Twas okay! Lots of listening and a tiny bit of note making. Just went through stuff about the company, dress code and sickness and holiday entitlement etc. The man training us is really nice, reminds me of a character from 'The Office'! There was 8 in my group today, everyone is really really lovely. There was supposed to be 10 but one lad didn't bother turning up (what a waste of a training space!?) and the other person is coming in tomorrow as he has been on holiday. So all in all a million billion times less scary than i thought. Tomorrow is more listening about safety stuff etc. I think next week we are learning the computer systems, after our profiles have been added to the system. Hope that helps settle a few nerves for when any of you get your start dates. If you have any questions just ask. x

    See Venus

I said that you and Maisette were competent people who had nothing to worry about. I knew that you could do it. Well done and lets see it continue in such a positive vein. X
  • Venus, that sounds quite a lot of training you have coming up - I'm only getting 4 days!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and you seem to be home quite early too which must be good news.

No, i'm sure there will be more groups, i know there is a group after us. I still cant believe one person didn't even bother to turn up and there is some poor sod sitting at home waiting for the call that could of had his place! Grrrrrr!

Counterfeit...are you an EO? I think they get less training actually. It's more shadowing maybe? If not than that is hardly fair. Maybe they don't have any training facilities near you? I have to travel quite far to mine y'see.

Thanks Whiskeyman, i am just a nervous wreak most of the time. Had to take some beta blockers to calm myself!!! I was okay after a while. Cant get too worked up really about sitting in a chair for 6 hours listening to someone prattle on!!

I am home early as it was supposed to be four we left but he said we could go at half 3. I think on different days when we have more practical tasks to do and different people speaking to us we will finish later maybe. Hopefully not too late or i will be stranded in Liverpool with no bus to get! The man who is training us is quite easy going about people being late/taking a day off as long as you ring and tell him.

Glad you had a good day, get used to people not turning up, the rate for people not turning up at all (can you blame them after the period of time it takes, probably started another job months ago) or attending for a few days and deciding its not for them after all is really high. More room for those that really need/want a job I guess.

Hope it continues to go well.
