DWP employment waiting list

Is anyone else having immense difficulty contacting the following number: 0191 2182783?

I have been trying to call them for two weeks (since I passed the interview and sent off my CRB certificate), but they just will not answer the phone!!!

I am so angry about this whole procedure. Does anyone else have a different number I can contact with regards to recruitment?

Got through to them today as I am waiting for my CRB form. The number i have is 0191 218 3354. Let me know how you get on and whether they will tell you anything??

I've committed the ultimate sin with my CRB application, I sent it back 5 and half weeks ago and Newcastle finally forwarded to Scotland for the check last week and I've just found out that Scotland have returned it as I didn't tick the box saying I had no other alias. Nightmare, I'm completely stressed now as I don't know where the form is and if it will be sent back for my CRB to be completed (anytime soon).
Has anyone else had this experience and had the mishap rectified and then offered a position?

I started today.....was absolutely lovely....everyone was friendly & the Training Manager was charming....giving us all the info & answering all our queries....the actual training starts tomorrow....looking forward to that now....:)

To help people with estimated time scales what was your excercise number and original application date?

Hello! I had my interview yesterday, so now I have to play the waiting game.. I am so so nervous... the next 3 weeks are going to be a nightmare!!

I am in the same situation too: I wait for an answer about last 3 interviews....I am just concerned about the comments the panel in Romford and in Bromley made--> With this crisis there are lot of experienced individuals out there so then the competition is very high. We had to raise the marks level to make a proper selection...

I just know I made the best I could but I felt so discriminated when my panel yawned and showed to be bored before I even started to talk...so sad...

I cross my fingers anyway. Thanks to this forum I didn't feel alone.

Just had a call saying my CRB got sent back as as I left out a detail. Tsk. Do they only do checks once a vacancy arises? I forgot to ask.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, Seems like it must be the case. Just hope the CRB forms get sent back quickly as I don't want to miss out. Feel like a crazy fool at the moment.

Application was in Nov 08
Test on 02 Dec
Interview on 05 Dec
Results only in mid Jan because the interviews went on till nearly 12th Dec & then a long break for Christmas
Received my letter of being on a waiting list in mid-Jan, pre-recruitment checks letter by 15th Feb. Disclosure takes about 20 days from the day the letter is sent out to Scotland. After my Disclosure came back cleared, I spoke to New Castle who said that they were waiting for 1 reference check to come back from one of my past employers - I called him immediately saying he was holding up my employment. Once all that was done, in 2 weeks time I got my start date. If there are say 10 people in the group, till everyone's papers are back things dont move forward & also it depends when the Business Area you are assigned to is ready to take you on because they have to be able to train you. Hope that helps...
