Oh my, I've received an email this morning from Resourcing Customer Services. I understand they have to contact you within 7 days of making a complaint, but it goes to show they are not looking into every case individually, as I received this despite me getting the call the day after I sent the complaint (22nd).

Thank you for your email dated 21st September 2009 which I have been asked to respond to. I am sorry if you have encountered any difficulties in contacting Resourcing, we have recently been experiencing some telephony issues which we believe have now been rectified.

Following your application for employment with Jobcentre Plus, we wrote explaining pre-recruitment checks were currently being undertaken and that you would be contacted again, once these checks are completed to confirm whether or not we are able to offer you a position.

I am sorry that we have not been in touch regarding the progress of your application. Owning to the unprecedented levels of recruitment within Jobcentre Plus, they are currently reviewing their staffing position, and will be in touch once they have a firmer idea of future opportunities. We do not expect this to be before late October.

I understand that you will be disappointed by this news and appreciate that this is a very difficult time for anyone seeking employment. I regret that I cannot currently provide further information, however in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me with any further enquiries.

If I hadn't received my start date already, I would have been furious to receive this email as it doesn't really answer my query (re: misplaced CRB, and people lower on the merit list receiving a start date prior to myself, etc...)

Good luck to all those applying for different jobs, wish you all the success!

I received this exact same email, and they didn't answer any of my questions about placement people out of merit list order etc etc either! Reading posts out of order as I catch up...well done Venus_in_furs!
  • congrats venus. really made up for you xxxxxx:j:j:j
  • Well, i am going to be in the Upton office...that is in the Wirral. I am excited but so nervous. I suffer a bit of social anxiety until i get into my stride!! I am crapping myself now...not going to eat for the next week!!

Here's my time scale thingymabob, incase anyone wants to know:

    Applied in May...

Call about interview day: 17th July

    Interview: 31st July

    Success letter...11 August

CRB....beginning of Sept (although the actual CRB was dated from just after my success letter...so if you haven't received it yet, don't worry- it may already have been checked and processed - they have just been a bit late sending it you back)

    'The call'...today!!!! Huzzah!!!

this is almost exactly matches my sitaution, except I had my interview at manchester united football ground on the 19th august.

it's normal to be nervous, it's probably your excitement! no more unemployment! how long is your training? what do you have to wear? will you be in the jobcentre itself of the benefit delivery centre?

this is really good news, it's a new beginning!
  • Hi

    Congratulations Venus!!!

I haven`t posted as many times as some of you guys, but i look at this forum all the time for news.

So when `one of us` gets `the call` it`s like a close realative ringing you with good news!

So pleased for you..... i really hope iam able to write that a few more times in the future for other people.
  • Well the are sending me details in the post, i shall update you then...the man was really narky on the phone...i said 'have a nice day then' and he just went, 'yeah, okay, bye' and put the phone down- really unhelpful!! I didnt even have time to ask about the contract and how long it is?!

I will be training in Toxteth job centre...3 weeks it will last. Then i go to my allocated job centre to carry on.

Thanks Maisette, Search and Thunerb0lt!! Wish you all were getting calls too though!! That would make me even happier.

Unluckyone..have you had the call yet?

It is indeed a new beginning. Hopefully i can move out of my divorcing parents home and start my life properly. I am VERY nervous...being trapped in the house alone looking for jobs everyday has turned me into a nervous wreak!! I will conquer it though...to much riding on this job not too!!

my heart goes out to you because i know what you mean.
you get used to your own company.
you get used to feeling fed up don't you.
    all those feelings of dispair.
    money is everything.
so get yourself a couple of months under your belt and then make the moves you have to, let yourself settle in with your new job first though.

no call yet. i did email the local MP for dukinfield though because if there was a "recruitment freeze" across a government body then surely parliment would know. but, obviously there isn't a "recruitment freeze" acroos the entire JCP as some of these posts suggest.
but i just want a true answer.
newcastle resourcging shouldn't say there is a "recruitment freeze" if that's not exactly the case.
