DWP employment waiting list

I've just had a phone call from a lady in Dunfermline confirming that there is a freeze on the EO post I applied for back in June.

I had the tests / interview in July and success letter 3 days later confirming 12 month waiting list although I've also been told I'm on the Merit list.

I had a phone call about 5 weeks ago asking me my preference of job centre from 5 (2 in Dundee, Forfar, Arbroath and Montrose) and I should get a call within 2 weeks with a start date.

First contact since then was today confirming what was said about there being a review of the recruitment and it's unlikely anyone will be getting placed before the end of October when the situation will be looked at again. She also added there is no guarantees that there will be postings after that date and advised me to look elsewhere if I wanted a job.

She was lovely and I really felt sorry for her having to be the bearer of bad news but I'm sure she had a few calls to make, but was going it to keep everyone on her lists updated.

This might also affect heathertheblether and mandie2106 as I notice they are round the same area as me.

Still got my fingers crossed though and at least I'm not going out worried about missing the call and up to now I do still have a job, albeit part time so I am greatful for that.

Fingers crossed for everyone that we do still get jobs out of this in the future.

Am I reading this right you had a waiting list letter, but was then told you were on the merit list? was this when you rang? as mandie2106 had the same situation, I really want to find out were I am waiting or merit but feel its too soon to ring! HELP

We are from around the same area, altho the places i would be working are leven, kirkcaldy etc. I was told pretty much as you were, except that after the situation is reviewed it should be a quick process in terms of gettign a start date. Seems that everyone is getting a different story

Your local Job Centre Plus will know as it will be in the internal directory. They are not allowed to give you the direct number (as it is internal etc) but if you ask nicely and explain your situation, someone might call them for you to check your progress. Thats what my JCP did for me yesterday!

Its never too soon to ring. I first rang up the very same day i got my letter cos i was confused by the supposed waiting list thing. I got told that same day that i was on a merit list AND my position on it

Its never too soon!!! Just give them a ring, at least then you'll know where you stand.:T

DeeJay....my story sounds very similar to yours. And i have already been told i should have had a start date by now (people who got there letters AFTER me have been started and yet ive been skipped out). Have you got any advice about who i could speak to regarding this? I spoke to that Louise yesterday and all she could do was get someone to ring me (which hasnt happened yet)....who did u complain to/speak to etc. Thanks in advance! x

have tried this every time i sign on but they tell me just to wait for them to call. just dont know which way to turn.

:mad::mad::mad::mad:Pay attention guys to anyone that's applied for IRC60535.

I am absolutely livid! Have just called today to chase them up because 2 weeks ago I was told that my checks were clear and should be getting a call from business services in a few days to discuss start dates.

I am now told that Andrew no longer deals with this it's Janice.

Apparently I'm number 59 on the MERIT list. Didn't think that sounded bad thought it would be out of about 300. But she doesn't think I'll be offered a post this time round they won't be going that far down the list. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's disgusting, my employer thinks I'm leaving I am so ANGRY after all this waiting.:mad::mad::mad:

I'm a positive person but honestly if you're on a waiting list just forget about the job that would be my advice and if you're on a merit list and think that's any better you're mistaken.

It's absolutely disgusting. All this waiting. I really don't think it's on I'm thinking about making a complaint.
