AAGGHH Dont know if i'm glad i found this site or not!!! I got my successful letter 15/09/09 on waiting list!! whats the difference with merit list and waiting list mandie? either way it dont look good does it? has anyone been placed when they are on the waiting list, please reply naffed off thought I had a job but reading these messages looks like i've not a cat in hells chance
Hey, as far as ive been led to believe, the DWP will post the people on the merit list before the waiting list. The waiting list i guess is kind of a reserve list (not sure if thats the right way to put it) so if they need any of you within the 12 months wait list time they will post you, but as far as im aware its not a guaranteed job (however they will post you if possible). Dont be disheartened tho cos the letter i got said i was on a 12 month waitin list but when i phoned up it turned out i was actually on a merit list. Its worth asking0 -

It's a woman who answer's now...in fact, she said he was on holiday... he's bound to be back now. Might chance my luck with a phone call tomorrow and see if they can give me more info about this freeze-out.
No its a guy called Andrew, Tel 0191 216 2408. Its also a woman answering his phone (i managed to get thru yesterday). Let me know what your guy says if you phone!xx

I'm going to TRY making a complaint this evening as I was told I'd get a start date by today at the very latest.
I know there are reasons for the delays and so on, but why tell people they can rely on dates and such when they can't? There are several jobs I would have applied for(that have expired now), had I known this freeze was coming...0 -
good morning everyone.
wonder what today will bring.
hope, despair, laughter,
MORE BILLS IN THE POST THAT I CANT PAY.:mad::mad:
going to keep calm and get on with my job hunting.:D0 -

Good morning! Oh i know, i hate the postman lol! How u getting on with the job hunt? I applied for another job yesterday. Pupil support assistant in a primary school just round the corner from me. Its less money and less hours but would be perfect for childcare as off all the holidays. Id still prefer the DWP job but figured i need a few back ups lol0 -

I think there are a few different letters u can get, either a 6 month or 12 month waiting list letter or a letter that just says uve been successful with no mention of a waiting list (think this means ur on the merit list), however my letter stated i was on a 12 month waiting list but when i phoned up it turns out i had the wrong letter and i was actually on the merit list. Its so confusing eh0 -

am a bit undecided at the moment what to do. do i sit this thing out and give it another couple of weeks or what. loads of shops asking for xmas staff but not sure i want to go down this route. oh my head is hurting with all this. i am going to go for a walk and think things over. thing is at my age maybe i should just take watever i can get. just having down day i think. hopefully will feel better after my walk.
The way im thinking....if and when i do hear from the DWP if i have a new job by then i can always leave and take the position with DWP. But this waiting game doesnt help the finances much, and with xmas round the corner....0
