  • I finally spoke to someone yesterday and told me I'm 23rd on the merit lis and all my pre-recruitment checks have been cleared. I know they have asked for my references about 3 weeks ago coz my referees have told me. What the nice lady did say was that she is going to e-mail the business and someone will call me back so I more jumpy than ever!!!

I seem to be in the exact same situation as you then. I was 90 something three weeks ago so maybe I'm a few places higher but they guy said it was dependant on location. Keep us updated!

As they are on flexi you have no chance of getting "the" call after 4pm so why not go for a long walk somewhere nice, like Lidl or Netto and get acquainted with your future customers.

    Hahaha! Oh that's harsh:rotfl:

Still waiting for the call regarding 60369 - had successful letter back in july, and had my crb back for ages.... *sigh*

I think I'll just give up all hope on 60370...
  • When I finally get a date to start I'll be very happy. At my current job I must get asked 5 times a day "so when you leaving" then I have to explain the process to them every time. They just look at me gone out :rotfl:
  • Let's see ... I applied mid-late June for IRC's 60369 and 60370 (AO and EO respectively). Did the online test for the latter late June, but didn't do one for the former as I'd received an email specifically stating I didn't need to as I'd already done the test. Invited for interview for '70 in mid July, but not for '69. At which point alarm bells begin ringing.

Sure enough, upon calling DWP it turns out I should have done the test for '69. It's all good, though, as they've re-opened the online tests and I should go and complete it. So I do ... it's exactly the same as the '70 one, and since I can remember all the answers from doing it previously it only takes me 20 minutes to complete.

After a couple more weeks not hearing anything on either job, I call again to check up on '69. I'm told my score on the test is plenty high enough to get an interview and that they were doing mop-up interviews that same week (late August early Sept - I have the dates somewhere). They gave me a number to call Manpower to find out when I would be interviewed.

Manpower claim they're doing interviews for '69 several weeks later than what the DWP said (this week, actually) and that they had not yet received any info for me. They also said their records showed I had already interviewed for '69. I told them that interview had been for '70. Over the next few days I made several calls to both DWP and Manpower. DWP confirmed I'd interviewed for '70, that they had sent my info to Manpower for a '69 interview, and that I should be hearing. Manpower assure me that as long as the DWP are telling the truth I'll get a call re: '69 closer to the interview dates.

Since then I've received a success letter for '70, and my CRB back earlier this week, so I no longer care about '69 beyond the sheer incompetence on display :D. I still haven't been contacted about an interview for '69. I reckon Manpower never fixed their records and haven't called me because they think I already did it.

Both 60370 and 60369 have been delayed a lot due to problems with their processes. My partner got her success letter for '69 back around the 20th July...
  • My friends are starting to believe that i actually didn't get the job and i am lying about everything... they just don't believe anyone would need to wait so long for such a job. I think they are very worried, thinking i am displaying crazy pathological liar traits...or living in some nutcase fantasy land:

Me..."Finally i got my CRB through the other day... i will be starting soon!!'

Them: "Yeah, yeah Kelly, sure you are...keeeeeeep telling yourself that.....now...where did i put the local psychiatric wards number..."

I've been following this thread for a while and panicking. All this talk of numbers on merit lists etc etc. This morning I picked up the phone to call Newcastle for an update but found a message on 1571 from yesterday telling me to ring my district office for a start date!!!!

Good news is I start in a weeks time and I'm over the moon! I had my interview in June so it has been quite a wait. _party_

What IRC number are you on? What JC you based in....don't worry, i won't stalk you, just as i am applying for JC's in my area...just weighing up the chances of where i will be put. Ta'

Congrats by the way...you must be made up!!!!!

Just telephoned Newcastle who inform me that it takes 4 - 6 weeks for the pre-recruitment checks, irrespective of whether these have been carried out on a previous application ! Can't give me any further indication of timescales for this exercise or where I am on any merit list:confused:
