Good luck, is it for AO or EO? Do you go in for just the day or for a week?
Sorry for the questions but after being unemployed for 10 months am nervous and jittery, will be glad when put out of my misery lol.

Lol - i'm in the same boat - unemployed since this time last year

Its for the AO position - I was told it will only be for 2 hours in the afternoon. Having searched back over this thread, i've seen at least people that went in for a taster on a Thursday and were invited to start the following Monday.

    Fingers crossed !
  • That sounds good, a couple of hours though, not very long is it? but ok i suppose if you are meeting all other new starters.. Bit like school lol. Anyway, lots of luck Marescino. Let me know how you get on.

The cynic in me wants to believe that the DWP are creating these jobs that don't actually exist and putting people on a waiting list until a vacancy opens just to reduce the UK unemployment figures :p

Does not matter where on the merit list. It means nothing as the phone is still not ringing!!!!
  • If you're 23 and not heard us higher up have a long wait then. Even though I was told my checks have cleared, my references haven't been able to send them off due to their email system and there's no other alternative. Even when they ring up they don't get any answer just keep trying.

Really don't know. Presume you have your pre-recruitment checks all done. They are a few on this forum for the same IRC and who are still waiting. AFAIK there have been no starters yet for this IRC no. I think the jobcentres are pretty full from the starters from the previous exercise - mine certainly is - mostof them don't even have a desk:rotfl:

I finally spoke to someone yesterday and told me I'm on the merit lis and all my pre-recruitment checks have been cleared. I know they have asked for my references about 3 weeks ago coz my referees have told me. What the nice lady did say was that she is going to e-mail the business and someone will call me back so I more jumpy than ever!!!
