me too. really getting me down. its like being in limbo. strange thing is before i applied for this job i had quite a few interviews for various jobs. although i was not successful i was getting interviews. since i had interview for dwp even though i am still appling for jobs and using same cv i have not had one interview.

I have kept applying for jobs too....but actually have had more interview offers since i got my dwp success letter...just no job offers :rotfl:I wish i could just say to them in the interview...'i already have a job lined up with the dwp, so if you lucky fellas don't snap me up QUICK, your gonna miss out BIG TIME!!!!!' Dunno if that would work, but they do say people always want what they can't have...so maybe that would sway them....:p:p

    Hi jessbob,

when you get newcastle, just tell them u already have a crb check done, am sure they dont have a communication link within depts and they r just duplicating things, i dont think u need to have another crb check done again so soon.

Will try them again - but last time I rang they said that they were waiting for the CRB, even though I told him I already had one for another IRC

    Thanks for that:T
  • LOL i had an interview at the jobcentre yesterday too, and the woman was like "so have u been looking for jobs" ehhh do'h! I told her the story and she said "oh thats good but until it comes up you have to keep looking for something else! Yeah ok, single parent who doesnt drive and can only work within certain hours....a job suitable for me isnt just going to pop up like that. Honestly...she tried to get me to apply for a job, night duty in a care home 19 miles away....and shes supposed to be a lone parent advisor....lmao, it makes me laugh.

To the person who asked about the CRB. i filled mine in at the interview stage and was given an address to send the disclosure to once i recieved it. I got it, passed it on to DWP and they took a copy and sent it back to me. Since then ive been told the call will be very soon as im quite high on the merit list and all of my checks are complete. apparently they dont even need references now. Its a nightmare tho, i dont have a mobile at the minute so im dreading missing the call! Im assuming if they cant get u by phone they woudl write to you tho?
  • Thought i would relate my experiences thus far:

    Sent application on 20/07/09
    Attended Assessment day on 04/08/09
    Attended Interview on 14/08/09

    Waited....

Received acceptance letter on 25/08/09 (My Bday :D)
    Received Disclosure from Newcastle 09/09/09

Went to sign on at jobcentre (11/09/09) and advised them of the situation regarding disclosure etc. Got home and had a call from the same job centre inviting me for a 'taster' session on 17/09/09.

Looking forward to going in today - no idea about start dates but it will be great to get back to work after almost a year and a half unemployed.

Good luck to everyone else - Just stick with it, they come through in the end !
  • hi,

is there anyone for this IRC.

Anyway, quick update. Was finally able to get DWP this morning at 10.57am, talked to a lovely gentleman named Barry who told me someone will give me a call back. Took my name and explained that things are slowing down at the moment. received a call back at 11.09am from a lovely lady, Janice who told me all my checks have been done and came back all clear and my details have been passed to the business office and its just a question of waiting now but that as i have been told earlier, things are slowing down.

I dont know what all these things are slowing down means as i am not aware of anyone having been placed for this IRC no.

Anyone out there pls let me know whats happening.
