DWP employment waiting list

Hi guys! Just looking for a bit of advice, so here goes....my journey so far!
May-applied for AO IRC 58772
May-sat numeracy literacy tests and passed
May-one week later had my interview stage
10th June- recieved success letter stating i was placed on a 12 month waiting list.
28th July-got my disclosure thru the door, sent it on to DWP and recieved back within a week.
So 2 weeks ago i got fed up of waiting and phoned the DWP up to check how long the waiting list was etc and why my referees hadnt been contacted yet. The guy on the phone was very confused, he said i wasnt on a waiting list, i was on a merit list and as all of my checks were completed i should be expecting a phone call very soon as he would chase it up. He also said that references were no longer required as all my other checks were 100% so they didnt need anything more. Still nothing. I know its only been another 2 weeks.....but just wondered how long most of you guys have waited??0 -
Thylacine,
please keep us posted what happens with u. Got my disclosure back from DWP today. am hoping we will be getting the call soon/0 -
Re: IRC 60375
Just received my disclosure today from DWP. Wonder if this means i will be getting the call pretty soon. Hope soooooo!
No offence, but don't get too excited!! If you have read the rest of this long as frustrated thread you will soon realise that this dwp recruitment process can be a very slow and long winded process!!
I would buy a good (long) book and enjoy the torturous wait. :rotfl:"You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0 -
Good Lord! This thread is HUUUGE!
I have read a lot of it but have some questions if that's OK?
I am in Warrington and have been told I have an interview next Weds. Here's my questions...
1. I am going for the EO job - how many people went to your set of tests/interviews? Mine is at a rugby stadium so I am expecting thousands to turn up!
2. Has anyone got some examples of questions for the EO role they could provide?
3. The salary is advertised at £20-24k - How do they judge what salary to offer? Is it based on experience or does everyone start on £20k and work their way to £24?
4. To those that got offered the EO role, what jobs were you working in before hand? What was your previous work experience?
Thanks in advance!0 -

Don't worry about your previous work experience, they're not interested. The application process is all competency based, how did/would you react in this or that situation, can you provide an example of how you managed this or that situation. You can use examples from your work or private life, any volunteering you've done, in fact from anywhere in your experiences. Just remember its I and ME
not WE and US.
The only time I was asked a direct question about my previous work experience was with Manpower for Birmingham EO IRC 58379 interview in Northfield, and that was just to acquaint the interviewers with my background, nothing to do with the interview process itself.
By the way, we are still waiting to get the call for this IRC! Just glad I accepted the post in Coventry and started 3 months ago.
Time line on Birmingham
Applied 17/03/09
Tested 18/04/09
Interviewed 20/05/09
Letter rec'd 13/06/09
still waiting for the CALL!!!!!
Is there anyone else still waiting on IRC58379 here?
My application for Coventry went in on the same day as Birmingham, I'm so glad I applied in more than one area.
Good luck everyone else waiting.0 -

Stage 2 is the 3 month review, Stage 3 is the 6 month review, customers get their cases reviewed and are offered help from JC+ to increase their jobsearch chances.
It's very busy, but each customer is different and the day simply flies.
The staff in the JC are great, lots of newbies and the more experienced staff are very helpful.0 -
