Pontyend........ congratulations!!!! have you got a start date????0

Can anybody who has had a job offer tell me how long it took for your contract to come through?
I was given a start date several weeks ago, but still haven't had anything in writing.0 -
Thank you! No, it just says they are running checks before they can offer a post. Reading some of the posts though this is the bit that takes the longest? I'm still working at the moment in a very flexible job so I'm just happy to get a this job even if I have to wait!0

Someone mentioned earlier on that they had received a confirmation letter but that it was hit and miss.
Personally I think it is important to get some form of documentation at least. How else do you prove at a later date that you were involved with the DWP....probably play a recording of THE CALL.0 -
I applied for an administration job at a pension centre, my time line is...
Mid June Application and online tests
29th of June was testing at the centre
2 days later interview
15th of July got the waiting list letter
Rang about 10 minutes ago with a starting date of Sept 1st (they did offer Monday, but since I'm away for the Bank Holiday weekend it's better to start then due to training schedules).
So yeah, happy happy now. Gotta ring the jobcentre, see what they need me to do.
But hang in there everyone. I was worried about the waiting list, but it appears to be a formality really. Although mine seems quicker then most from reading this thread.0 -
Re IRC 60862 - Newport area (or so I thought)
Had the interview in Cardiff on 28th July where I was under the impression that all the vacancies were for the Newport jobcentre. Even the preference form we had to fill in only had the Newport site on there.
I have now received a lettter today saying that the preference form at the interview was wrong and could I fill out and return a new one which includes 9 other locations. And these vacancies MAY ARISE over the next 6 months !! Doesn't sound as definate as it was portrayed at the interview and I'm a little confused by this now.
Would they send this letter out to everyone who was interviewed or could I presume that they have just sent it out to those selected ? What do you think ?
I got really excited when I saw the envelope thinking it was a congrats letter and now I'm just confused.0 -
To anyone who was at the EO interviews at the Radisson on the 6th July, I received a letter today to tell me that I'd been successful. I did the happy dance around the kitchen with my housemate to celebrate. No idea of any start dates or anything, but it's nice to have confirmation of my success at last. Anyone else heard yet?0

Hey Richyvezy, I had the same letter today also saying the wrong form was used in the interview. I phoned up the number on the letter for the person who sent the letter to see if I could just tell her over the phone. Apparently this person is on leave for a week. The person who answered is only taking messages so I have just sent the letter back today.
However, I was thinking (hoping) along the same lines as you in that maybe they are only sending out to people who have so far been successfull at interview.
Also from the letter it seams it is for the BDC and not the JC. I'm not bothered either way, just need a job a.s.a.p. as my money is fast running out (even after cutting all of my outgoings to the bare minimum)0
