Can anybody who has had a job offer tell me how long it took for your contract to come through?

I was given a start date several weeks ago, but still haven't had anything in writing.

I had a confirmation email and was told the contract would arrive after i've started. I wouldn't worry about it, from reading this thread not everyone receives something in writing before they start.

P.S Congrats to all who have gotten their start dates :-)

Hey Richyvezy, I had the same letter today also saying the wrong form was used in the interview. I phoned up the number on the letter for the person who sent the letter to see if I could just tell her over the phone. Apparently this person is on leave for a week. The person who answered is only taking messages so I have just sent the letter back today.

However, I was thinking (hoping) along the same lines as you in that maybe they are only sending out to people who have so far been successfull at interview.

Also from the letter it seams it is for the BDC and not the JC. I'm not bothered either way, just need a job a.s.a.p. as my money is fast running out (even after cutting all of my outgoings to the bare minimum)

Well you would of thought it would be a bit pointless, not to mention a waste of paper/postage, to send that letter out to everyone that interviewed and not just the ones they have pre-selected for the roles.
I'm gonna put a positive slant on it and take it as a good sign. The form is filled in and sent back already so just have to wait and see.

Where do you live Trevor and which areas did you opt for after ?

    Had two letter today!

1st for IRC 60529 `I am pleased to inform you that you have been successful`
But as it was for `west yorkshire` and I have not filled in a preferance sheet no idea where. So awaiting pre-recruitment checks now.

2nd was for IRC 61254 Saying I have passed 1st stage but put on a waiting list!

1st one was full time so will be much better, depending on location.

I have a Disclosure scotland dated 5th aug from another one, is it worth ringing up and letting them know to speed things up?

    Hi Vincent.

Very sorry to hear you too received a rejection letter. I can certainly empathize with you here, as I too received a rejection letter yesterday for an AO post (thought I did quite well too at interview). I am still feeling very low about it, being in a similar situation to yours in relation to money problems. It is HORRIBLE being unemployed, and I hate all the hoops you have to jump through these days just to even get an interview.

Anyway, as I say, I sympathise with you, and hope something turns up for you soon.

    Chin up

  • To anyone who was at the EO interviews at the Radisson on the 6th July, I received a letter today to tell me that I'd been successful. I did the happy dance around the kitchen with my housemate to celebrate. No idea of any start dates or anything, but it's nice to have confirmation of my success at last. Anyone else heard yet?

Got mine today - same letter it seems. No useful information at all just "you have been successful". Will wait (patiently) to hear the results of the recruitment checks.

How long do you have to wait once the Disclosure scotland is done?

Rang Newcastle and they can use the disclosure I already have, I have faxed it as req. They rang to confirm they have it and say that it will speed things up, asked what offices jobs were at, see was not sure, but will allocate closest to me.

My interview was at Radisson on the 6th July, so might be working with you counterfit

I live in Cardiff. Cardiff would be my preferred place, wanna keep fuel costs down, but I'm happy and able to travel to Newport if it means I get a job. I put down I could work in Cardiff, Newport, Cwmbran, Penarth and Barry.

    How about you?

Yeah I was thinking it would be a waste of money to just send to everyone, lets hope that is what they are thinking :p
  • Crockpot - that's useful information since I have my disclosure from the AO job I applied for and theoretically start on the 26th. Not really sure what's going to happen now I've been successful with the EO thing. I seem to have gone from having no job at all to sort of having two. Obviously I'll be going for the EO, but having just signed off Jobseekers I wonder if I'll end up doing a spell as an AO first.

Hey, got my success letter yesterday. Huzzah! I have been reading that there are different success letters sent out? Some mention waiting lists? I would be grateful if someone could explain this to me? Thank you :)
